I can't wait. I'm building mine from the frame up. I've been thinking on something similar, But my engine goes in the front. I ordered the Massimo frame. Good Luck. I haven't posted anything on my channel yet.

@@The_Backwoods_Misfit Hey that’s awesome! I’ll sub so I can follow along. Did you buy the whole thing or just the frame?
@The_Backwoods_Misfit11 күн бұрын
@@owenchabot I bought the frame shipped total cost $405
@owenchabot11 күн бұрын
Ok gotcha. I paid $460 for the 250cc engine, and around $600-$650 for all the stuff in total, parts and everything. In the next episode I’ll talk more about it.

I’d do it if the engine I was looking for had reverse but they didn’t.
@owenchabot8 күн бұрын
Wow- so funny story… the exact thing happened to me. I had ordered the reverse variant and waited and waited… it never came. So I got a refund and bought the 5 speed. I watched the tracking and it got to Denver then it just disappeared. We almost got it but I think it got stolen. Sorry to hear!

The engine was a good thing if it's actually honda. Not a chinese copy. Trust i got a copy. It's a boat anchor

why stay on an overprice famous brand 125 cc engine ang still breaksdown when there are cheaper much stronger higher cc engine without hurting mom's pocket.
@owenchabot8 күн бұрын
Yep I think the 250cc should last a while. Fyi that engine you see is a result of the earnings from my KZbin channel. Mommy’s pocket is untouched 🤣
@UNBIASEDCOMMENT8 күн бұрын
@@owenchabot no offense about moms pocket. we all started in that line. and it is a good thing chinese engines these days are reliable ang mostly used by other people as a useful alternative to replace a broken down famous jap brand that not too long ago they say it is indestructible. let's say an expensive 125 cc honda engine vs half the price 250cc chinese engine with 6 speed. in my country. those engines where use and with reverse in stock. i been using chinese bike since 2012. it still run's good until now.

The new engine is a dog. You will be disappointed in its performance. If possible I would send that engine back and get a 190cc horizontal engine like a Zongshen or Daytona
@owenchabot4 күн бұрын
Are you sure you got the 250cc model? You may already know this, but this specific engine has two variants. If you got the engine with the vin code reading 167FMM, it’s a 249cc. If you got a 167FML, it’s a 197cc. What’s scary is that if you don’t look closely when buying, you can get the wrong one. What they do is change the bore and stroke dimensions. That being said, you could have gotten the wrong one. Just a thought.
@74elsinore4 күн бұрын
@@owenchabot The 250 is a low output, low compression, push rod engine that makes about 14 horsepower (feels more like 10hp). The cam, bore and stroke of the 250 make for a very underwhelming engine. In addition to that, the vertical cylinder will make it difficult to mount on your mini jeep. The 190cc will practically be a plug & play motor swap.
@owenchabot4 күн бұрын
Good info. Since we have all the parts now, I’ll be swapping this engine anyway. If I want to make upgrades, I’ll do so. The carburetor I chose should help it out a little. It’s a pwk style so it should at least feel somewhat responsive. It’ll definitely be better than the 125cc engine though. (Our clutch was going out so it feels like a 70cc)
@74elsinore4 күн бұрын
@@owenchabot The Chinese 125cc engines are surprisingly robust. You can easily increase the power with a cheap sprocket change, carb swap, tinkering with carb jets and exhaust. Most of these chinese 125cc engine powered vehicles have a catalytic converter and restrictive exhaust. Some even have an EGR valve. Removing cat & EGR and re-jetting the carb will make a huge increase in performance. The auto clutch can be adjusted in less than a minute. Its an external adjustment on the right side engine cover.
@owenchabot4 күн бұрын
As far as the 250cc engine goes, what would you suggest for upgrades? Valve springs, gaskets, lobes, etc?
