The Cinderella film added depth of character for the Prince and the Stepmother, as well. And Cinderella, too… her moral character of courage and kindness came directly from her mother as she was dying from cancer. I cried buckets when she got her party gown. It was just stunning. Disney got that moment right.

The Cinderella film is less a remake and more another adaption. A beautiful piece of art.

IMO animation is a superior medium for fantasy and stories with fantastic elements. I dislike "live action" remakes, because most of the time it's just the magic/superpowers/whatever CGI'ed onto actors anyway. Like, if 90% of it is CGI, what's the point of making it live action? Just do a fully animated thing at that point. It frees up so much artistic potential too- certain things look much better stylized than realistic, a good animator can do so much more than CGI on actors.
@OhMagicalUnicornLord16 күн бұрын
I think it's just an issue of it not needing an adaptation, personally. There are plenty of fantasy movies that work well in live action, either with CGI or practical effects, but remaking from animation into live action I feel like rarely adds anything of value. It's like how adapting a book into a movie often loses elements from the original - it's not the medium that's the problem, but that *that* spesific story doesn't lend itself to *that* spesific medium.
@bradleycovington978816 күн бұрын
I am fine with it however if it is a retelling with a different premise or story, for example Maleficent worked because it was an entirely different story, Lion King did not
@onepiecepedia15 күн бұрын
@@OhMagicalUnicornLord I agree, The Lord of the Rings being a perfect exemple. But again, if you watch the Beauty and the Beast movie from 1946, it's wonderful, does it have the same magic as the Disney animated classic? no, but it's a different vibe/take on the same story with it's own "magic"

I think for me, watching cartoon vs live action gives me the same feeling as when the cast changes. You get used to the voice, look, attitude everything! And watching the other media type is basically a cast change in my eyes. So i usually fall in love with whichever one imprinted on me first!

It does, but it's less aggressive than the ones on the site formerly known as Twitter and Threads. For example it doesn't automatically downrate posts that have links in them, which the others do to keep you on their platform. That makes BlueSky a bit more friendly for content creators.

I wish some film company would remake a live action movie in animation, like, I guarantee you there would be a not insignificant audience for a remake of goldeneye in the style of the n64 game.
@DD-qo1tw15 күн бұрын
Although I'd prefer remakes to be really rare, maybe only when the original is so old it lost relevance or has genuinely offensive elements that now act as a stumbling block to people enjoying the original. That said, Hocus Pocus could be fun as an animated film. Also I always wish fantasy and sci fi book adaptations were animated. It's just so much easier and believable to include unreal elements.

So many platforms are pushing algorithms for dodgy purposes. Bluesky doesn't do that. Great thing about Bluesky is lists. You could create a list of minecrafters that people can follow. They can even follow the list and it autofollows everyone, so when you add more people to the list they get follows from the list followers. It allows you to grow your account very fast and gives people the ability to see what they want to see. It's fantastic for growing a kind and good community. You can do the same for block lists which are good for keeping away certain types of trolls in particular.
@petrophaga852313 күн бұрын
wait... but that just generates follower not interactions. This is a pyramid scheme and not sustainable. The value of followers lies in their advertising ability for companies. If these are just lists that follow each other, the whole thing becomes uninteresting for companies and is bound to fail.

A possible idea for a live stream, a one hour per night during week, just like a regulare TV show. It could have a focus on tutorial, adventure, building, redstone, farms, etc or other. Or a live stream could be for one hour each night with a different focus each episode. I am more likely to tune into a set time, set length show.

the main problem with live action remakes and why they are done outside the obvious cash grabs is rather silly a lot of people in the west see animate be it pixar or treditional cartoon animation as infirior and/or for children, they see the entier media from as where actors go because they failed and can only do voice work its really sad, because the animated medium is so much less limeted than live action but the west more so those in high postions just invalidated it as "for children" or for "faild actors"
@Moe_Posting_Chad11 күн бұрын
Scar doesn't approve of live action Disney remakes? That is the correct opinion. Starwars as a brand is in shambles and as a diehard fan I know it must not be easy for Scar. But there is something so unifying about how nearly everyone disapproves of this live action remake grift. Nobody wants it. Legitimately nobody. Make a new movie, at least then there might be a new modern classic that is in the theater!
