@@bidishahyeh the actors and directors wanted it to be something that hinted at the possibility of Hermione and Harry doing something in that moment. Think Emma Watson said something like “there’s always that awkward moment in a friendship where something could very easily happen, and that’s that moment for them” - she does also say that it’s a light hearted moment in a time that they’re depressed and scared to death so it does work well for the movie, but in terms of what’s established in the books about Hermione and Harry, they would never even come close to wanting to kiss each other or be romantic. Harry said in the book he always saw Hermione as a sister.

Dobby's death was like a cruel blow for us all just because of how pure he was. He really just wanted to protect Harry Potter, the very person that gave him what he wanted the most: freedom. The movies don't show it, but Dobby helped Harry in more ways that is known. For example... Dobby came to work at Hogwarts at the fourth book and was the only elf cleaning the Gryffindor Tower, since the other elfs stopped doing it when Hermione started to fight for the rights of house-elfs and started leaving clothes for them around the common room. And he was the one to tell Harry about the Room of Requirement so they could use it for the DA meetings. And he also helped Harry spying on Draco during the sixth book. At least, he died happy and free on Harry's arms... doing what he always wanted to do: save Harry.

The whole side plot about elves drives me mad. It’s quite realistic that wizards (in general) enslaved them because they (the elves) are so unbelievably powerful. It’s terrible but it (unfortunately!) fits real humans, and it fits into the wizarding world. But why would Hogwarts do so? Why would they do so after Hermione’s work? Why would Harry keep an elf after inheriting a building? Why would they let Dobby run around in horrible clothes after they saved him?
@blakeverdon449210 ай бұрын
@@otter011 In regards to Harry keeping Kreacher, not only was he a connection to Sirius (as terrible a connection he might be), but also I'd argue it would probably be pretty dangerous to set that _particular_ elf free... considering he damn near tried to attack Hermione for simply speaking to him, at least in the movie. While these aren't exactly _the best_ reasons, I think they would at least have been considered if Harry ever thought about freeing Kreacher. Love your observations about why the trio were having conflicts and breakdowns. A detail from the book that would put more perspective on the radio thing - the channel Ron was listening to would announce the names of the people death eaters killed that week or month.Since Ron's family was one of their biggest targets, he was constantly anxious and on edge, waiting for his worst fear to come true and hear a family member's name. But Harry hated hearing those names because he somewhere blamed himself for all of it. That's why it puts him on edge when Ron listens to the radio but it's a comfort thing for Ron to sleep better knowing that his family is still alive.

Hi, I already commented this on another reactor's channel, but Harry's cloak IS a deathly hallow. That's because he's a descendant of the brother that asked Death for the cloak (you could see he was buried near Harry's parents - his surname was Peverell). There are normal invisibility cloaks, but they wear off eventually and stop working. And also, no, the philosopher's stone isn't the resurrection stone. The former makes you live longer - the latter brings back people from the dead.

In the books it is explained well why Ron lost it. Ron has always had a stable home and family with his mom’s brilliant cooking. During these camping scenes, food was an issue (you can’t magically make food appear. You can increase quantities but you can’t make something new appear). Harry was often underfed at the Dursleys and basically their abuse prepared him for the tough camping life. For Ron it was too much. Hermoine being Hermoine would have been mentally prepared.

Daniel, Rupert and Emma had a lot of chemistry. Nothing sexual according to them, because they basically grew up together as friend. Even the Hermione and Ron relationship was hard for Emma and Rupert because they saw each other as siblings rather than lovers. Honestly Dan and Emma probably did have more chemistry to each other than Emma and Rupert. And that coupled with Ron's lines being co-opted by Hermione didn't do Ron any favors. Also, in the book it's Harry who says "Well my parents are dead!" idk why they changed it like this to Ron saying it. Maybe because they didn't want the main hero to look bad. That dancing scene between Harry and Hermione didn't happen in the book, it's a bit weird.

5:40 I have to tell you, the moment Hedwig dies in the books... just like that... She has so much more character in the books than in the movies too, and in that moment as I read it, I put the book down and sobbed. This was a character by Harry’s side from the start of the book series, even before Ron and Hermione, so for years Hedwig had always been there with Harry, even in quiet moments alone. I was the same age as Harry through the series. I got the book as soon as it went on sale, in line and everything, so at that moment I also felt like so many other people must be experiencing the same feeling around the world... It was the first time I truly felt the weight of a childhood being ripped away. That nothing lasts forever, and if someone as pure and innocent as Hedwig could die so horribly... it was difficult to pick up the book and keep reading, with that moment at the very beginning.

You should do book reviews of these books at some point. It would give you an even deeper appreciation of the story.

I really really like this one. I like the adversities and the struggle. As you mentioned it feels more human and a good perspective of what is it like to be in that type of situation. A bleak, alone, and very intense situation.A lot of people complain because it lacks "action" (which I don't understand since there are a bunch of intense action scenes in this) and that it is slow but it is really necessary to show how stuck they are, trying to figure it out everything basically by themselves. Also, their friendship is so so beautiful. They grew up together and had to deal with so much together and they always have each others backs.

I'm glad to see that there are fans of the movies who have not read the books because while I was watching the movies for the first time, I saw all the informational omissions that you had to read the books to get. I believe that the movies were made for the book fans who already had that information, but when someone who hasn't read the books still enjoys the main plot, that's a good thing.

My favorite part is Harry and Hermione dancing. It's showing that are truly friends and there is nothing there. They truly love each other as friends and both are only children . So, there is an understanding that they both have. The pause and look to me, I read as...thank you...but I'm still sad.

You are the only reactor I've EVER seen that just completely 100% NAILED the interpretation of Harry and Hermione dancing together. Just because there is a romantic undertone doesn't mean that they're feeling romantic toward each other. It's more of a 'platonic best friend love'. Really looking forward to the finale! 😁

I have to repeat the comment I made in your reaction to The Half Blood Prince. Every time I see the scene on the beach with Dobby, the waterworks let loose. Making matters worse, I have this empathy thing, so I'm feeling your shock and pain too.

42:45 I couldn't agree more! I actually think this is my second favourite HP movie, after Order of the Phoenix, both because of the psychological aspects, which I find similar to number 5 with feeling isolated and the blessings and challenges of relationships/friendships, and the fact that it is more grounded/human.

In the book: after the chase on the brooms Lupin is furious at Potter because it was his fault they knew which Potter was the real one. The reason is when they first attack Harry used a disarming charm instead of an attack spell or curse and it gave him away. So basically they put their lives on the line and Harry screwed it up.

The dance scene is my favorite scene from this movie. The meaning of it with music is wonderful For me this scene shows how incredible the relationship of the two is because in all the films they made a point of showing that nothing romantic came from either of them. My favorite friendship from the franchise ❤

22:32 grrr another frustrating thing! Lol they were actually told this bit of information by a portrait of Sirius’ great-great-grandfather, who was also a Hogwarts headmaster (which means his portrait is living in Dumbledore’s old office, so he can now talk to Snape), that Hermione smuggled out of Grimmauld Place. Phineas was snarky. He’s well-missed in the plot of the films. Anyway, 😂 if you want the full story, listen to the books. I’m tempted to read them on KZbin for the new potterheads who can’t sit down and read 3k+ pages

It's worth noting that Voldemort doesn't really give a shit about blood purity and all that stuff, he just uses it to gain supporters. Yes, his daddy issues do manifest as violence toward muggles but the only thing Voldemort TRULY cares about is living forever.

not sure if anyone told you, but when Harry won the Triwizard Cup in GoF it came with a large cash prize, too - understandably he didn't want the money due to everything that happened so he decided to give it to Fred & George. That's how they opened the joke shop.

The dance between Harry and Hermione was more just to raise their spirits as friends. It was when Dobby died that really got to me in this one. Do not apologise about being upset. It is so brave of you to show your feelings. I wish more people did. You will find out about the gem in the kast movie dont want to spoil it for you.
