Speaking for myself personally, as a consumer of music, not a producer of it- I want to hear things now more than EVER made by real musicians. And if I can help it, not just random musicians whom I have no clue who they are, but knowing who made the song. Or soundtrack, or whatever. I'm completely fed up with robotic sounding music, and soul-less stuff that has no personality to it. AI to me is just the latest iteration of that. I hope I'm not alone in wanting more organic music, made by real artists, and knowing the names and histories of these artists.

I know it sucks that you felt called to talk about it, but I just wanted to say thank you, because hearing from someone who has a solid job in the industry and keeps a very honest approach to the content you make, it REALLY helps in easing the minds of people like me who are just starting out and have felt immediately defeated. There's a lot going on everywhere, a lot of shady stuff overall across a lot of industries or businesses it seems, and it's just greatly appreciated that you were willing to talk about it anyway and share some helpful insight and opinions 🙏🏻 thank you!

I can't believe there are people who said that in the comments. I'm a songwriter and producer based in Tokyo, and I've been doing this job for ages. Nay-sayers will always be everywhere, especially on the internet where they feel safe trolling in the comments section. The most worried I've been about AI is the thought of major labels writing AI songs for their artists just to keep the copyrights. It may happen, but not on a massive scale. In that case, they will probably send the song for arrangements to people like you or me. From an adrenaline junkie point of view, that's great. Actually, it boosts my motivation to keep learning new arranging techniques and getting better. And when it comes to my gear... no way! The whole point is having things with lights and knobs. The more, the better. I have ADHD, and I really relate to how you feel reading these comments. I don't need to be politically correct here: AI can come kick my ass. I still kick ass big time. My clients know it, and I get to keep them. And my studio is awesome. I can watch movies at night as well. Oh... for all of you thinking about becoming songwriters and planning to quit because of AI, do it. Please, quit! We'll get to keep a bigger slice of the cake.

Really needed to hear that trying to get out of a long time funk after a few years of nonstop musicmaking... just cant quite get into the rhythm I had going before. But why not do it anyway, its better to write some filler bullshit to get it out of the way than to not even try eventually consistency always seems to reward one way or another.

Ai can’t do anything unexpected by literal design. But the unexpected is what people want. If it’s too calculated it feels plastic. Julian’s voice strain on reptilia in the pre chorus makes it real, ai could replicate that technically, sure, but it’ll be a perfect mistake

I see AI mostly as a positive thing from creative side, Im waiting for full AI integration in DAWs. Imagine your choice of DAW with voice recognition system, so you can basically talk to your software for it to do all boring things you normally do with mouse and keyboard.
@breakburritoАй бұрын
I second this, but in practice think about how specific you would have to be in your voice commands to do the things you would normally do with your mouse and keyboard? Most editing functions will still be manual due to the precision needed, but there could some general functions that could be called by voice. We'll see.

All the people lamenting about AI just really shows how little a lot of people believe in their own creative voice and abilities, and also how skewed their priorities are in regards to what motivates them. If money, fame, and accolades are the only things that drive you, then yeah, it is likely you will fail, because you're letting everyone else but you define the value that your skills and creativity have. Art is about expressing yourself, and AI is the antithesis of that. When your goal is self expression, AI can never replace you. Loving the process of creating art needs to be your core motivation, whether you're just working on your own stuff or seeking to help others make their creativity come to life. Potential clients will catch on to your vibe real quick if you're phoning it in just for the money, and not because you actually care about making good art. And if you'd manage to hit it big with music that doesn't really matter to you, wouldn't that just feel so awfully empty? Your take on all of this is a very healthy and constructive angle, and I appreciate you sharing it. Keep the good content coming.

Under a abstract comparison. ChatGPT, is under major backlash for wanting a scarlet johansen voice feeling for their AI voice chatgpt-4. They now have lawsuits to deal with Scarlett herself and the court has to determine if this was fair use to get a similar voice actor and prove said voice actor's existence, if recognizing the imitation is against her brand and they are guilty. I think I now realize how necessary for everyone to cover themselves against liable damages, and the authentic worker is the easiest way vs an a.i. thanks for addressing it.

'A.I Love, love it or hate it, A.I Love, you are my A.I Love' That could be the lyrics of an upcoming uncomfortable cheese 80's ballad from Sweden's 'will be famous once dead' Max Fury! In all seriousness. A.I is such a double-edged sword. When the A.I does the music it's a bit weird. Everyone keeps whining about how it's just like a human now. No it's not, it's good, but it has a lot of small issues that say a producer can hear. What's scary is the regular people don't really care, and haven't for years. That's why all these autotune rappers with the wrong key setting in autotune (always makes me laugh, cause it sounds ass) is dominating the charts. People needs to start caring about music again! But i doubt it'll happen. Only if we producers force singers to sing. Ironically on my A.I love song i sing without autotune/melodyne. It's the first time in years i'm doing it. I wanted to force myself to get used to a natural sound 'again'. Nice Swedish flavour T-shirt btw!
