"Six year project" -- Yes but it's more like a lifetime project. It's the project that made me want to be a writer. I've put it under such high expectations that I find it impossible to write. I will write anything but this dream project. Your excitement has made me think about it again. Maybe this is my year for it, too!

You got this! I'm plugging away at my first edit of Botany. Chosen still in drafting and Vendetta is waiting for me to continue the massive edit/over haul it needs. Vendetta is the longest term project, I got the initial idea when I was about 14. It's changed a lot since then.

But I read that story and it's not close at all so I've been thinking about this one a lot. It's perfect for an update with some modern tech that will make it even more interesting.
