I'm finally learning Goldwork Embroidery and I'm OBSESSED

This project is coming together like a dream, and it's my first opportunity to try Goldwork embroidery! I'm enjoying being a beginner, and watching my skills improve with each new section I stitch

A trick I learned to getting perfectly fitting peices is to (very) lightly stretch the bullion before you cut the peice, just enough so the coils are ever so slightly seperated and aren't touching. This way, if the peice is slightly oversized, the coils will shrink closed and the peice will fit without buckling or puckering.

Hello! What is the fabric you're using? It looks like power mesh. Tried to use stretch power mesh but it got all distorted! I really love Clio Peppiatt's dresses and would love to make something similar :)

Ah, stretch fabric isn't a good idea for this reason - my fabric looks similar, but it's very stable - it's got less than 2% stretch in either direction. It's called "Nylon bobbinet"
