I’ve been struck 7 times that I know of in airplanes. Typically it is a bright flash and you may hear thunder but not always in the airplane. Typically the lights/screens will flicker and that’s it. Your truck like the airplanes should form a faraday cage protecting occupants from shock. That said, sensitive radios and instruments may suffer from premature failure at some point. A word of advice while trucking during severe weather. Get a CB with a Noaa Weather Radio built in or some sort of Noaa Weather Radio for the truck. That is something i use daily at my home is a Noaa Weather Radio has saved my behind a few times when bad storms have hit when i lived in Michigan and now Florida.

I was on an Air Canada flight over Pittsburgh, We got struck by lighting. you see a flash the plane dips a bit. after 5-10 seconds at least 120 people, start talking and say WOW!

I was delivering newspapers on a paper route once, and I was going up to this house and I looked up, and a lightning bolt came right at me, and for some reason, it stop half way down and you're supposed to have any metal in your pockets well I had my cellphone in my pocket and I never got struck lightning close but never did

Lightening hit my 86 Buick Somerset with me in it going down the road. My car lost power temporarily then normal again. Messed up the AC Delco sound system that i really liked. Never worked very well after that. It had 2 screens. The 2nd screen with the settings for bass, treble and direction for sound started to bleed through the main screen where the volume and radio stations were shown.

I’ve been struck by lightning. I was in my old 1982 Toyota diesel pickup in NC. It fried the electrical charging system but because it was a mechanical diesel I didn’t know for 3 weeks. Ahh to be 16 again.

You need to put a polyaspartic covering on that garage floor to protect it during the times you work on your cars, and such. Then a nice Pro-Slat (or equivalent) side on your walls, to hang tools, and such, and you're on your way.

In 2016 I got hit by lightening while driving my semi. It was just white for about 10 seconds. Nothing like losing all power doing 70 mph. I'll always remember that day because I was stuck at a rest area with food poisoning without any power to the truck
