Same thing happened to me recently, ordered a PlayStation 3 game online and it had a reprinted cover. Blew my top as it was part of a collectors edition that cost £65

Just take it to Cex and they will give you a refund including postage, no issue. I've done it myself. Distance selling regulations apply. I don't like that they reprint covers but not going to get annoyed about it when it's easy to sort

I’ve bought games from them online they arrived with really bad scratches and cracks I took them back into the store and they gave me a full refund including the postage. I agree with them selling items with a re printed covers for full price is unacceptable I mean they could at lease sell the reprinted version a for at least half price than than the original copies.

I went in there recently to trade in a collector's box set, only to be told due to the discs not being in a blu ray case but were set in a secret draw in the box set, they wouldn't take it.

I actually went to CEX the other day because i saw that they had a game i had been looking for a while in stock at my local one, go in, pick up the case and it's a fake reprint on tatty regular A4 paper... it's really pathetic on CEX's part, which is why i have not ordered anything online as of yet because i may get tatty reprinted cover art..

Na its shit. I had to go to cex 3 times to get a disk that actually worked on my xbox. The game was sonic unleashed. The games in there has deep scratches and some had millions of light ones! I got fed up of going so I ordered online.

I got screwed with CEX when I was going to get flatout ultimate carnage xbox 360 sadly they couldn't find the disc This never happened to me But Idk how they misplaced the disc So I basically got some different games instead of trying to wonder why it even happened Like I never had this happen to me But no I didn't buy it and how the hell can they loose the game disc that easy when everything mostly sopose to be in order

They have got to stop doing this. They did reproduce labels with their games a few years ago and it got so bad it was picked up by BBC's watchdog. Not only are they misselling but technically breaching copyright laws.

As far as I knew they weren't allowed to send online orders out with the reprinted covers, customers can't see the reprinted cover on the website so it's false advertising.

Yeah I’d never buy online from CEX as they accept things in shoddy condition half the time. They don’t care about the standard of things. They check the discs but seems cases and things they happily take and sell with no idea. Not like CEX is cheap either. I’d get it if they discounted stuff based on condition, the same way they grade it when you trade in or want cash, they give you less.

BigP, so as C.E.X. only had the discs (therefore unsellable for them) for a rare series, they printed a cover which enabled them to charge the full £30 for the series. That is why some are reluctant to buy off them on-line because it's hit and miss if it's genuine. I've seen reprinted covers show the words "reprinted cover" on the top left, but clearly that wasn't showing here. For a collector it can be frustrating to buy an item under the impression it's genuine only for it to turn out to be 'fake'. Hope you manage to locate a genuine version for your collection BigP!

This is strange, I work in CeX , company policy says stores are strictly not allowed send items if the Cover is reprinted , CeX also don’t reprint the inside of covers so I’m actually going to assume it was a customer who had the discs, seen the item was worth a decent trade in value and reprinted their own cover to trade it in and the staff didn’t notice it was printed - so yeah , normally if my store gets an online order and the cover is reprinted there’s an option we select to pass the order to another store that has the item in stock , suppose you’re always guaranteed to get your money back with CeX anyways , even if there’s nothing wrong with the item, hopefully you got sorted in the end 😁

Another thing I do is always check the discs before I leave the shop. Not just for scratches, but to make sure it's the right disc. Got home once and it was the wrong disc, bought two marvels and it was the same disc in both. Took it back and told them what had happened. When I got home they had replaced both discs with the same disc from the other bloody film. I went from having two copies of age of Ultron, to two copies of assemble 😂😂
