I am no where near perfect, but I am absolutely against ANY kind of driving distracted/impaired. However, I would trust Shade behind the wheel of a vehicle over most soccer moms these days. I have almost been taken out several times by a 40 something karen behind the wheel of a minivan doing 60 down the residential streets of my town while texting the HOA about kids playing in the street.

I remember years ago when I was in Bavaria, I visited the Spaten Brewery which is extremely famous. Isabella who was the lady giving us a tour of the place told us that there was a court case recently there which had gotten a lot of publicity when a construction worker sued his workplace for wrongful termination. The guy worked for a construction company that had been bought and the new owners went over the employee roster. Apparently there was a guy had worked at the same place for 15 years and every coffee break and lunch break, he'd gotten a beer instead. When they got to court the judge only asked "Has he caused any work related accidents" and when the answer was "No", the judge immediately ruled in favor of the guy who was fired. Germans take their beer seriously.

I'm a recovering addict, 18 years, and I work with addicts and alcoholics on a daily basis. I see young and older people struggle every day from addiction, this person probably knows nothing about alcohol and drug addition. They probably watch too much television and need to get a real life. You folks just keep doing what you're doing to make sure those kids at Forgotten Angels get a chance at a real good life, and don't let the naysayers interfere with their negativity. Josh, your response segment was well spoken. I feel that from your explanation of things that there is no way that the person who complained is perfect by any means. There is a good chance they’re one of those that texts and drives, and very well may have their own messed up family member that they are too “blind” to see their addictions or problems. Most of the time people are looking for an excuse to either get their money back, or bring other people down because they themselves are hypocrites and unhappy with their own lives. If someone wants to criticize you for a YT video, then there are plenty of other channels, or plenty of other things they can do with their time in a day. Keep doing great things for Forgotten Angels, and keep building motorcycles and having fun with your friends!

So let me say this. I’m a volunteer firefighter/EMT-A. I don’t smoke weed at all and never have. I do understand that you and Chey sometimes do. But you don’t get wild and crazy, you’re NOT addicted (talk to an EMT or firefighter and you’ll learn what a real drug addict is). I support you and Chey. I can tell you don’t ride drunk. I have a few beers sometimes, when out with friends, and I ride home. I’m not drunk. You understand your limits so does Chey. In 22 years as a Deputy Sheriff I never arrested a drunk driver on a motorcycle. I did investigate fatal motorcycle accidents and the blood tests came back impaired. Now, I did stop people reading books while driving. A lady balancing her checkbook. A teacher grading papers and women putting on make and men shaving with an electric shaver. If you want to smoke weed in your house go for it. I’ve arrested serious drug addicts, put them in jail to get them clean and hope they stay clean. One drunk driver was a Vietnam Vet with serious drinking problems. Gave him my pager number and helped him get into a program and get his job back. Had him set at my table with my family and shared a meal. He relapsed and I never saw him again. Had a CI confidential informant who I arrested for driving without a license. He was on heroin which he had on him. Let that slide, he helped me clear a lot of breaking and entering, thefts of tools and four wheelers along with dirt bikes. He kicked the habit but the harm was done. His liver. I’d stop by and see him and found his Mom had dementia and he was her caregiver. Several years after retiring I found he passed away. Well since his friends hated Cops I didn’t attend his funeral, I still visit him from time to time when I’m I on a ride. It’s easy to quit and you’re not hurting Josh or Chey by pulling your support. You’re however hurting those young men who this money goes to help. I was a motorcycle Deputy and we escorted many of biker rides. Let me tell you what I found out. Bikers are great people and will drop everything to help you. Don’t judge. Keep your money, it’s not hurting you right?

I had a child that was suicidal and using drugs and even got caught up in selling and getting jumped etc. It was heart breaking to have him and his drug addicted girlfriend "visit": us then our money missing or items missing from the house. At one point we called a police officer that knew us from church to go bring him home and he refused so she tazed him and he went into state custody and visited us on the weekends. He is now off drugs but still does some weed and has two kids and is married and supporting his family. Huge difference between him now and him then. I am proud of the work he has put in to make changes and I am so glad that as his parents we took that action. It literally saved his life. He was sleeping in a bug infested bed in a drug house and didn't care if he lived or died.

I often have a beer or two when I ride out. It has never caused an issue , I do not get drunk and ride but take a beer as part of the ride at some old pub then ride on. Of all the hazards on the overcrowded ,narrow ,windy often scary roads in the UK , a couple of beers is not much of a factor comparatively. I lost my mom to drug addiction 13 years ago. I lost my dad to a drunk riding a motorcycle this year. The last video of yours I saw made me very uncomfortable when you mentioned you were drunk while riding. That being said. I just chose to stop watching the video. Love to see you guys thriving. Regarding drinking and riding, i dont at all but i dont put anyone down for doing it. Usually if im going out i just want to experience the event and my friends and the ride. Everyone should know their limits and whats safe for them. I just know that everytime i hop on my bike, i want to push it hard and i really dont want to mess that up with alcohol. That being said i way too often hop on my bike way too tired. Ive fallen asleep riding and have been lucky enough to catch myself awake before anything happened. Shadetree, i believe God uses flawed people to do His work. BECAUSE THATS ALL HE HAS! We are all flawed. Im glad you an d your crew do all the good you can. And being comfortable with who you are in this life is a damn rare, and awesome thing. Myself, I am back on 2 wheels for the first time in 40 years. My skills are nowhere near good enough for me to have anything to drink when i ride. Another season or 2 who knows. Stay weird brother. Your strain at tearing up when talkin about Chey speak volumes about the man you are. A real one. 👊

Brother you do a lot of good and spend time trying to help other people and you certainly don't have to. You also are a savage at long distance trips (Ive done quite few so i know legit when i see it) And seems to me a pretty awesome human being......let the haters hate. Even if the fellow doesn't like the drinking I do not think he should stop supporting something that is good. You have to think further ahead. These folks are bunch of good folks make the best of a cruel world. They may not be the same as you but they are fine folks. Fun to watch. Love them all.
