Some advice about rats: (I haven’t watched the whole video so you might know this) 1) two rats is the perfect amount. They are very social. However if you get two the both have to be female. Two males will kill each other, and a female and a male... ya know. 2) rats playing looks like they are killing each other, they prob arnt but check on him. 3)sometimes they like to sleep on their back. It’s scary.

i had a rat who could squeeze through the bars in her cage and escape but she seemed to know where she lived so after a while of her escaping we put a ramp up to her cage from the floor so that when she escaped she could make her way back herself. she was also very cuddly and friendly 11/10 rat

Hey bro! I’m so glad you’re well informed, but there is one small thing I noticed! You said you’re getting a recycled paper bedding, and when you get it, make sure you tap it on some paper (just a little bit) to see if dust comes off- a lot of these beddings have very fine dust that isnt always safe for a rats respiratory system. Kiln dried shavings are most recommended (pine or aspen) but I trust your judgement! Just wanted to drop this info just to be safe! You can also get fleece cage liners that you just toss in the wash once a week so you don’t have to worry about shavings at all, which has saved me a lot of time personally, and a lot of sweeping up shavings from the floor lol. Can’t wait to see more videos about your rats in the future!!!

Pet birds can get bumble-foot as well, so you should always have natural wood perches instead of dowel so there’s lots of variation and they don’t get sores and infections

I would recommend using fleece as bedding because almost all shredded bedding causes respiratory infections. I have had 5 rats before my current rats and already the five who had shredded bedding showed signs of illness.

I used a litter box. Put a brick in it with the carefresh and they will poop in it lol. Also I put a plastic coffee container tied to the side and they would use it for a trash can. Rats are so amazing.
