Great breakdown Wayne! I think a spent a ridiculous amount of time back in my early years of mandolin playing along with the Sam and Del version you mentioned (with amazing slow downer lol). It really did make me get better.

Hi Wayne, I have really enjoyed watching your videos recently. What a great channel. I have always been a huge fan since I first heard you play Tillery Cove at the Meadowgreen Music Park in Clay City, Kentucky. Keep up the wonderful work! God Bless you!! Danny Fisher

Glad you like the channel Danny. I love Meadowgreen Music Park and playing there down thru the years has been a real treat. Someday I hope to have time for a Tillery Cove video. It's on my list.....

@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 I look forward to seeing that video that will be awesome. I just retired in June and have been setting my focus more on improving my instrument skills. My family and I have been playing Gospel music for 36 years. I am really excited about what the Lord has in our future plans. Take care and be safe out there Wayne. I hope to see you around sometime. God Bless you!🙏✝️

I love what you said at the end, and I think maybe a lot of people forget or lose sight of the main focus here...."have fun!" Great vids Mr. Benson! I really have learned a lot from these and enjoy every one! Thank you!

Professor Benson: I just shocked into reality that you are tuning to 432 or so.....Is this common? Is this a bluegrass thing? I like it.
@waynesworldofmandolin36162 жыл бұрын
I'm not tuning to 432 but I am fascinated with that whole concept. I probably just grabbed the mandolin and it was in tune so I went with it and didn't bother to see if the A strings were at 440.....

@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 Cool....I thought I had really been missing something. Actually made a big difference in the sound of the mandolin too... Thanks for the info!

That mandolin has a great open bottom end. Who’s the maker? Great playing.

That mandolin was built by Johnathan McClanahan and I couldn't agree more. It's a hoss and very fun to play.....
