Common fallacy of mining is that they figure electricity is free. Going off the average price of electricity in the US, you'd be over $2600 in the hole when calculating electricity costs for a full year of mining along with the cost of the hardware. Even with 8 miners, that's no guarantee of hitting a block within a year, it's a 1 in 23 chance, the other 22 times you get nothing at all. Even pool mining, you will be forever unprofitable if factoring in electricity costs. The real money in any gold rush isn't digging for gold, it's selling shovels to the miners, and cryptocurrency mining is no different. The only people making steady money are the ones selling the hardware.

This is great as a Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash solo lottery miner. There are 144 blocks a day, every 10 minutes. 52,560 blocks a year. Thats alot of opportunity to get lucky and hit a block. Well worth the price to just set it and forget it as it could be life changing for some people if you hit a BTC block, 3.12 BTC. If you beleive in Bitcoin, you are also doing your part by contributing to the security and growth of the Network.

I have 10 , $40 Nerd Miners at 72 kilo hash (720 KH/s total) Solo mining so that is $400, before the Nano miners came out, and I bought one of these Nano Miners for about $180, FedEx shipping is $79 but still the price compared to the hasharate of the Nerd Miners is Great!

These don't truly solo mine, they just mine in a pool which can point to a solo mining pool. No node, not running your own pool submitting your own block headers is not truly solo mining. Need an apollo II full node miner to do that or deep tech skills.

Ive got 2 - one on stock PSU another on the aftermarket. Both get HOT. Stock 145F and aftermarket 127F. Longterm I agree with @redpanda Stock PSU looks like it will last long term.
