This was my first big Magic event as someone who has been in and out of the game since like Homelands. Purely casual Commander player, there with my son. Had an absolute blast, played loads of games, got some cool stuff, met a load of people I watch on Twitch and KZbin, including saying hi to Jim late sunday (then again in the hotel after when I heard Kai had won the PTQ, which made me very happy because f**k cancer. Sorry if I disturbed you guys.). Wish I'd had a Goblin token with me. Enjoyed the video a lot - a week on I'm still on the comedown.

This is really awesome, Jim! I’ve been a huge fan of the whole CFB crew for years and years and I think this is the very first time I’ve seen a behind-the-scenes as comprehensive, informative, and enlightening. You’ll all do great, I believe in you!

Hey Jim, I was super happy I found a Tireless Tracker for you to sign and it was definitely my Highlight meeting you! It was incredible watching all the pros play. I unfortunately missed the announcement of the Kai Budde award and all Top8 games because the schedule for the event wasn't displayed anywhere, neither were the standings. Other than that it was an unbelievable experience and I will definitely visit the next peo tour in Europe.

I never comment on KZbin vids, but I enjoyed this video so much I feel like I have to. And I would’ve definitely been in your chat if I knew you were live haha! I love seeing behind the curtain of pt teams like this. What’s its like testing in the house, breakdowns of why you chose to play what, what you were thinking in drafts, etc… please keep recaps like these coming, and the longer the video the better. Also, how tf did y’all get so much product out in the middle of nowhere and how did yall get the cards for the decks? Just seems like a huge challenge since you don’t know what you’re playing going in. Anyways I love your content Jim, been following you since the scg days and I’m glad you’re finding success.

This is all very familiar to me, as a bunch of friends get together for a weekend playing board games (including m:tg commander), drinking beer, and eating. We've been doing it every year for a decade now, and the whole house part of this video is exactly what we enjoy so much in our gatherings. We alternate between the UK and mainland Europe, staying at places very like where Jim and company stayed. We've managed to stay in every country bordering the North Sea bar Norway.

Thank you for the recap, It's fascinating (and admittedly sometimes somewhat surprising) to see pros like you guys rank cards. Like I'd have thought evangel and glyph elemental would be a lot better ranked, and really surprising to me to see them ranked so low in energy decks… Seems like infernal captor wasn't included in the eldrazi deck ranking, when experimenting with them myself they felt okay I thought, as it can make for some backbreaking swings with all the spawns and such, though admittedly it does make casting your big eldrazi harder

A couple weeks ago before the pro tour I mentioned in the stream that I would love to see the old greats like Finkel and Kai rock some storm and do well in the PT. Lsv even tweeted that Him, Kai and Jon were all playing the same 75 in storm. I was stoked as hell. After seeing the 33% WR of the deck, and even though I obviously have no input in this, I feel bad for them, lol. Hope things go well in the next ones boys

Not from Europe, but I love how Americans always assume that not being open means you're losing money. No, in other Western countries, staff are paid a liveable wage, so it's actually expensive to keep a business open at certain times. 4pm is a terrible time for a Cafe to be open.

You have to really be an American when you expect restaurants that serve dinner to open before 4pm and close after 9.30pm. Those are normal times to eat dinner. People would not visit at other hours if they were open because people don't eat dinner at those times. For instance, a burger and fries is not considered lunch over here. Lunch is a sandwich and there are plenty of places to get those.

I wish pro tours were pre-release limited kits or just constructed cause I don't draft enough and if I ever make it imma have to draft a ton. I've probably drafted 30 times in my life of playing magic for 10 years and I just feel like theres to much luck based on what you get and if someone next to you is picking the same colors etc.

Mad love to Kai, he was winning everything when I first started playing tournament Magic. He was at a GP I played at and dominated!!! #fuckcancer Just a quick question Jim approx how much does it cost to play in a foreign PT? Does Wizards help out at all or is it all down to the player?

This draft format is not fun or easy. I have decided to pick white aggressive cards and then hope to pair them with red, blue, or green in that order. Obviously if the eldrazi deck is open take it. But I don't try to stay open in this format, its a good white aggro deck, eldrazi, or crash and burn. The Netherlands is very beautiful. Trampoline and looking at the farm!

A very American complaint that there were queues for the bathroom in a giant convention hall that had numerous bathrooms littered throughout. Although to be fair you will have had a much tighter schedule than I did and maybe couldn't afford the extra 1 minute walk. I have 100 complaints but bathrooms weren't one of them. I was so impressed with how clean and numerous the facilities were.
