One tip that I'll add because I'm not sure if NL knows - the Cursed bonus kicks in at 5 curses and is flat. So on non-cursed runs, you can start removing curses if you get more than 5.

If you want to perfect Hexaghost you should come into the fight with 24 or less health to make this block practical. More specifically the attack is 1x6 if you have 12 or less health, and gets bigger every 12 more health. ( 13-24 health = 2x6, 25-36 health 3x6, ect) it attacks for half your health rounded to the nearest 6. ( 6 because HEX ghost, get it?)

Here's another problem with score chasing without fully understanding things: NL wants to hit 2 shops to try for 35 cards. Doing so requires dodging an elite. The bonus for 35 cards is 25 points. Killing a Beyond elite is 30 points and perfecting it is another 25, plus he has Black star so it'd be 2 relics too (they help plus 25 relics = 50 points).

More curses isn't detrimental on a cursed run. The extra strength alone should more than make up the difference, so the extra max health & the convenience of *not* having to remove them makes it a no brainer to keep grabbing them imo, with the exception of normality which should be avoided/removed unless strictly necessary to get to 5 curses

No rares is a 50 point bonus, so the rares only need to get you two perfected elites or 1 perfected boss to justify their existence, and you're probably still at the point where they'll do that. In this run, had you perfected that last elite, that woulda been 55 points vs 50 points for going to the shop (assuming you had the gold to remove the rare)

The typical "NL Problem" you got in most of the games you play a lot is that you are fast to play by heart, meaning if you ever learned something, no matter if right or wrong, you're often having problems adapting to new information and are often making the same mistakes over and over, even if you know if you're actively playing you could circumvent them. Hence, you're playing better now than back then in cases where thinking is important, while on the other hand, some things that aren't always obvious you've simply forgotten now, like "If you fight Hexaghost, lower your hp before fighting it so his second turn hurts less", which just isn't something you're gonna think of necessarily. Your case by case decision making has definitely improved.

warcry non upgraded is literally -1 draw. its only worth taking it when you have fell no pain and dark embrace. warcry plus on the other hand, now that's a card!! you can look at an extra card per turn and you have the potential for the exhaust synergy.

Not tanking anger was really bad. Anger is a great dmg card, especially when you have extra strength. the 'filling up your deck' rarely occurs, especial with your play style. Taking warcry over it was a little painful lamo

I love watching StS, but I think the problem with NL when he's not got twitch chat going is he sees some tips like "take curses" or "don't take rares" which are valid kin specific circumstances and makes them his unquestionable rules to live by. No rares is like 50 points, but taking 2 copies of 2 rares equals that AND you have a better deck so it's easier to go faster and get more perfects. Curses, unless you have certain setups, are only a bonus if you have 5 of them. There's no point taking >5, and there's no point picking up your 3rd curse on the room before the final boss etc.

Just going to repeat some information so Egg Dad can climb the leaderboards easier in the future, hexaghost's damage changes based on your health going into the boss fight. If you purposefully drop your health before going in, like by just letting an enemy wail on you, he's much easier to block and get a perfect on.
