You just cant help but love the world champion. What a humble likable human being, no problem admitting he didn't see something or misplayed, none of the pretentiousness you see from some other chess pros. Magnus is truly the best ambassador chess could ever hope for.

smmshoe How are you generalising Firouzja’s behaviour looking at just one incident? He is 16. He was in a winning endgame against Carlsen. Of course anyone would be bitter about it. But obviously, we can learn from our mistakes. We can become better people. That’s life. You can’t look at one bad incident and generalise it to his entire character.

I am testviking. It was a great pleasure to play against GM Magnus Carlsen! I felt so nervous. Probably one of the reasons for my mouse slip. I still use that same mouse! I think it is fantastic that chess24 has these blitz sessions and gives people a chance to play against Magnus. I am happy that I lost, now I can continue my anonymous life. It took me a while to write this comment, I know. I guess I did not know what to write. Also, I am not a big comment writer on KZbin. But that might change someday. Anyway, thank you Magnus and thank you chess24. It was awesome!

Black had the pair of bishops so tried to exchange one of them,so he would be fine in endgame.also the Bb7 bishop was very strong and probably better than the Bd3.Also without lightsquare bishop,black wouldn't be able to create that many threats on kingside.At least that's what I think.

I've seen some lessons on openings in chess and what's funny is they say those are openings for beginners. "Slav defense" Like why do you think if I am ranked 700 that my opponent will know Queens gambit? He is just gonna use some bad tactic where any of this GM tactics don't apply and if he is just slightly better than me I will lose. No tactics or anything, just chasing pieces around.
@angrytomato3365
@angrytomato3365 5 жыл бұрын
The point of openings is to know stongest moves in some situations and to learn from them. If your oponent dont play "GM moves" , if you are better you will find a way to expoit it.

I'm not sure.. In the moment rock takes knight, Magnus could take his bishop with rock... the g3 is still under attack, i know..but its still not easy... and magnus was only 4 seconds behind his opponent... 16 second for a world champion is a lot. Yes i know: there are a lot possible ways to attack the white king, and improving position... And the black king looks a bit safer... But still: there is a lot of opportunities for white conterplay
@ernestc5641
@ernestc5641 5 жыл бұрын
PygmalionFaciebat Magnus was 16 seconds behind. A rook for a Bishop trade is usually a ton better, especially endgame where rooks dominate checkmates. Whoever this opponent is, without a doubt is around the level of Magnus from how Magnus was very serious and evenly challenged until the mouse slip. Even Magnus knew he was pretty screwed with “that was lucky, aye yae aye” once the mouse slip was made.
@ernestc5641
@ernestc5641 5 жыл бұрын
To be exact, Magnus was 18 seconds behind 5:10 with 38 seconds to 20 seconds when the slip was made. Black had a slightly better position, but the overall difference went down to black having almost double the time.
