What should matter is what they represent to us, who might appear in your mind when you read them or talk out loud. So also love is just a name given to something more womderful than its actual meaning

The whole premise of him buying Chise has more to do with him learning human emotions than taking her as an apprentice. She’s been teaching him about various emotions throughout the series. It helps him better adapt to understanding and living amongst other people. It’s not really that sad because he didn’t have emotions established in the first place.

Also, I heard that Chise likes his real self (skull) better than the fake human looks does he does, so if anything, she’d probably rather kiss the skull. But either way - I hope we get another kiss some day

Besides the title of the anime being questionable, there's no grooming in this relationship. From the very first episode Elias told Chise she's free to do whatever she wants and can leave. She chose to stay because she needed meaning and purpose in her life.
