The Mi'kmaq First Nation also make them. My mother makes them with a silver hoop and silver wire or stainless steel hoop and wire but the main ones are made from seed beads.

David McDonald I make them myself but I of the Apache Nation... they are pretty aren't they ?

The stories are that they should be placed at the head of a bed to catch any bad dreams so that the person they protect doesn't have any nightmares. Usually seen in areas where Native Americans or other Indiginous peoples populate.
@davidmcdonald6546 жыл бұрын
Sometimes they are also placed in the window for the rays of the sunrise to burn the bad dreams caught from the previous night if the window faced the east as I was told by my Great Grandmother.

Take a piece of wrinkled aluminum foil, about ten inches square about four cups of water, and put it in a pan on your stove. Then set your 925 Sterling on the foil, and turn the stove to medium. Let it boil lightly for a few minutes. The tarnish on the silver will transfer to the foil. This is how I clean coins, jewelry and any other silver I find. It cleans them well enough for your collection or to sell. Good luck and safe diving.

We consider that 'smaller' hailstones here in Chicago... Our average hail is between (*US) Quarter (*25 cent piece) and Golf Ball sized. We are in 'Tornado Alley' after all! Woo hoo on the dream catcher earring! Make a wish!
@VoklstWestie6 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelOliverLJR Tornado Alley is a vast area. Illinois & the Chicago area are at a vortex of water, tornadoes tend to follow waterways due to Barometric pressure. Near Chicago is Lake Michigan, the Chicago River, The Illinois River, the Illinois & Michigan Canal & other waterways. If you buy home insurance youre covered should a tornado hit. You dont need a separate policy. You can certainly pay for one to get more money should one hit. www.google.com/search?q=tornado+alley+illinois&oq=tornado+alley&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l3.8681j0j7&client=ms-android-hms-tmobile-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

@@MichaelOliverLJR We live in NW Wisconsin @ 6 hrs NW of Chicago. Oldest daughter lives in Schaumburg...gotta LOVE that Lou Malnatis pizza!! Yummmm!! BEST EVER! Gotta try sometime it Michael!! N of course Garretts caramel n cheese mixed popcorn! 😋😋😋 Anyways, last yr we had a tornado here that was recorded as the longest on the ground tornado in Wis history n went thru 4 counties n destroyed several million dollars in homes, farms, n businesses. Sadly there was a fatality, he was the buddy n co-worker of the couple that set us up n were in our wedding. It was VERY sad, and there were several others injured. But THANK GOD we had weather warnings ahead on tv n radio as well as sirens alerting folks to it coming or it could've been MUCH worse!! I was home alone and had a hand held scanner with weather alerts, my cell phone n our laptop with LIVE radar on to watch. I was nervous as heck...I HATE storms, n a BAD storm passed with heavy winds n rain n HUGE hail. They were as big as golf balls up to the size of lemons!! Being in my 50s, I've seen a LOTTA hail over the yrs n golf ball n a bit bigger were some of the biggest I'd seen until that day. It ruined the shingles on our house, put holes in the siding, cracked a cpl windows, dented my van from end to end n stripped leaves from trees and broke off limbs. All through our area there was worse damage with smashed car windows and trees down all over. I'd no more heard it pass when we heard sirens go again n a tornado alert come n the electricity went out. A friend was keeping me up to date via text n warned me to get in a safe spot and I was in a corner against the wall in our lower level which is below ground and in my sons futon bunk under 2 huge floor pillows and a few blankets. I no more got under and the wind and rain hit harder yet n my gf said via text it was right by us! A tornado went just south of our place by less than a mile!! It cut across the county n hit a trailer park where the young man was killed n on to the next county wreaking havoc in its path! It was a HORRIBLY SCARY day!! I NEVER want to go thru that again!! I'd had 2 close encounters yrs earlier, 1 as a teen n another in my 20s, where I seen tornados..hence my fear of storms as well as the fact my grandpa survived one in the 1920s that killed his brother n 2 cousins n hearing that growing up. So, trust me...you never want to see one anywhere other than on tv! They are SOOO POWERFUL it's CRAZY!! So, stick to tv n movies...they're MUCH safer!! Now, as to your treasure hunting...my hubs n I LOVE your videos!! N he has a detector n just learning, but having fun doing so!! Keep on hunting!! 🙋♀️

@@badmandansanchez1823 I was on Lake Lanier near Atlanta, GA when a hail storm hit, luckily i had a boat cushion on my head, but my hands got all scratched up holding the cushion on my head. Are you afraid sometimes? Do you have others watching out for you while you are in the water? Have you ever gotten stung by a jellyfish? I love watching you do what you love, and that is to give back to others that lost something that might mean the world to them. I had all of my jewelry stolen from my home after I had a fire in my house. It was bad enough to lose your memories through a fire, however for what the fire didn't take thieves did. Rings and neckless that I can never get back, some of the jewelry from people that I loved and had past away.Some of the rings from old loves that I can never get back. Some of the rings were bought from pawn shops that were purchased while I was in the Navy from my one and only Douglas Bryce Smith and were very unique and in my eyes were priceless. I, of course, had insurance; however, I did not use a dime of that insurance which was only $5000 because you cannot replace something that someone gave to you with meaning. So I think it is incredible that you are out there trying to find the owners of their long lost treasures. 10:14 is a dreamcatcher earring

Yeah Mike Great Video,Legends held that the spider web design of the dream catcher would allow good dreams to pass through and float down the hanging beads and feathers to sleeping children. Bad dreams, however, would be caught in the web. As the first rays of the morning light hit the dream catcher, the bad dreams would disappear. The American Indians.
