It's a song from a personal place. I'm in Here will touch people's hearts and help raise awareness for autism. It's attracting attention from listeners around the world.
The song is sung from the point of view of a child with autism communicating to a loved one.
"I'm in here when the joy turns to crying, see the world through my eyes for just a moment in time," say the lyrics to I'm in Here. "I'm in here, oh don't you know I'm trying to find the way to show you who I am."

This Anthem is amazing! I listen to it quite a lot. As a person with Autism, I can relate to the song. I love everything about it except the notion that we should be cured. We don't need a cure, but instead understanding.

My son is Autistic. Everyday is a battle and my sons teacher is amazing she owns a dance studio and they all wore blue and dance to this song my son and his other friend who is autistic were the guest of honor. This song really tells a lot. Not enough people know about autism. its hard but i know one day both our families are hoping we get the chance to share the joy of solving the puzzle. Beautiful. I have a 9yo dtr on the spectrum....through the struggle and the pain, there is also the beauty that is she. Autism is the unique way of viewing the world that my daughter sees things....meeting in the middle is where you meet her.

I have high functioning autism or the asperger syndrome, and I can understand what people with the same condition go through and I feel your pain, having this condition hurts for me as well and I wish there was a way people can understand what I go through everyday and I wish there was someone who understands me and who I am.

I have the same conditions and I can feel the same way but being hard on yourself too much can get you nowhere and just cause more trouble for yourself and makes other people worry about your behavior, try being positive and I'm sure things will be better for yourself, I always look on the bright side of life and it really helps, for example I want to have a real girlfriend someday and I want her to like who I am and what I do and I believe it will happen someday I just have to stay positive, if you try the same thing I'm sure it will help you too.

I don't think a cure is really the answer. I think what is really needed is acceptence and awareness for the people around us, and careful teaching of how to communicate for those of us who have more difficulty. I'm lucky, I have Aspergers Syndrome, on the high end of the spectrum. What makes me more lucky is that I was diagnosed very young, and my parents explained my disability as soon as I could understand it. I was told about it, and that helped me learn to work around it.

"I am in here"-how simple and so so touching. I see so many kids with autism struggle with their identity and how misunderstood they can be which really makes life tougher than it should be. Raising awareness is vital and acceptance that this is a real issue and not just a difficult child!

He is now talking more and more and being able to have eye contact and be able to tell me in HIS OWN WAYS that something is wrong or bothering him.

Thank you so much, each and every one of you, for your responses to our song and video! My daughter Kristy is 27 now, and has profound autism. Although she has little speech, she has been my greatest teacher, and I thank God for the gift she is in my life, even though it has never been "easy" to be her mom. But I love her beyond words, and the song "I'm In Here" is an expression of that love, and of the love BJ has for his young son Rylie, who is also on the spectrum. God Bless!

Beautiful song; I have asperger, a mild autism. I too am musician/singer/songwriter, and activist for affordable healthcare; now writing for autism awareness. Besides having an ASD I see a vivid example of how our healthcare system (in USA) fails. Often insur companies won't cover needed therapies of autistic child; tragic because it is so important they can get in timely manner. AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE IS A RIGHT! for autistic and neurotypical. The autistic child has right to needed therapy.

My little boy falls into the autism spectrum disorder. It REALLY upsets me when people label him as dumb or stupid. I REALLY hate what he is going through! This is a good song and it does bring tears to my eyes. Knowing my son has no friends and probably never will, frustrates me. He is such a sweet little boy and wouldn't hurt a flea. However, he gets upset when no none understands what he is trying to say. I wish God would explain this to me....

I have a Cousin by the name of zack. Who is severely autistic . And I have spent a lot of time with him. And unfortunately I can no longer do that. Because He went through a very aggressive phase. But he no longer has that. All though that is gone. He jumps and stomps to much. So there for. My uncle and his wife my aunt can no longer take him on trips to up State Ny. Or any other place. When he was younger I got to go on some great trips . With him as an extra set of hands to help out with him. And he is what inspired me to. Become a behavioral therapist.

My son has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when he was only 3 years old, I cried for weeks. We found a very good school that teaches children with this diagnos. He is now 9 and life has changed because of this school my son is going to. Even when it stays hard on us, we can now see clearly. This song touched me in the deepest of my heart. I only wish there were more things like this so the world would know that people with autism are not bad people or weirdo's as some would say.

Genius, full of love and understanding in a society full of hate, im glad you think i dont belong ... why destroy what makes me me, then say there is nothing wrong.. thats the Gist. basically i couldnt agree more for us , however for the autistic children that are physically impared, non verbal, and so on... i can see the want to help. misguided idk. im not articulate when writing ouside of art.

I have autism (as my screen name says.) More specifically aspergers syndrome. I have found that autism has way more benefits than set backs. Yes we tend to be socially awkward but tons of us wacked out geniuses. Also one major problem in the whole concept of a cure for autism ( you can get better at having it im living proof) is that we are dealing with a condition that effects the mind. How does one distinguish between where autism ends and the person begins?

I have learnt so much about life from him than anyone else.. its sad that they say autism is not real even if its right under their noses.. the most sad part is those who has not come face to face with an autistic, never get a chance to be inspired by them and missed out a lot.

Thank you! We don't want to be changed or fixed, except the things that are truly broken. We all deserve to be accepted as we are. This is a great song, but I wish they'd stop trying to "fight" autism and start learning to communicate a different way. If the proceeds were given to programs helping bridge the gap instead of making it wider, I'd buy a copy for everyone I know just to show my support.
