Make sure to have your dentist do a thorough inspection of your mouth. My brother in law passed away last year from this type of cancer. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. This lady is so lucky to have found it as early as she did.

Ha same but on jaw. This dentist was awesome. My tumor was next to jaw. They took 66% of jaw, rebuilt with fibula bone from leg. I wonder how many weeks pot op she was here ... still looks swollen. My incision is below jaw line, hidden. I'm 25 days post-op. No radiation needed. Tumor did not spread anywhere but it was big and hiding in lower pallet. But cosmetically I'm looking good. She can get cosmetic surgery probably. I'm 100% cancer free post surgery.

Please let me help. I am into my fifth day of tongue surgery where they took part of my tongue. I could have been prevented if only the Doctors would have heard me cry an beg for help with a small spot under my tongue. They put me off . It took 8 months to get the tumor removed. With all of my being I will do what ever it take to help with awareness. Please let me help. Just answer this text and let me know what I can do. Thanks

@simplybeachyforever1005 Just Google oral carcinoma. Plenty of photos. Causes are tobacco use and bad oral hygiene, though some folks have neither of these risk factors.

I am having my second surgery next week as the cancer came back. I am angered even more than before. I am in a lot of pain as this cancer grows in my tongue. It only took 3 months to come back, and the surgeon didn't even recognize it was there. Health care FAILED ME A SECOND TIME. My dentist was educated enough to spot it. If you have a sore in your mouth that does not heal go to a dentist and make sure you stay on top of it. Make them do something. Biopsy is the best way to find out for sure. I am going to lose the front half and part of the side of my tongue. I am very scared and depressed about it.
