Max keep an ear out for one thing for me please. There is a moment I miss terribly from when I used to sail. There is a moment when the engine is turned off and the sails catch the wind. For lack of better words there is a whump and then hull creaks under the new loading then total silence except for rigging and water. Find this moment and you will have found true peace. I truly miss it with all my heart. Enjoy it! These are times that will define you and build you.

I have always called a sailor a “ragpicker” ( get it, the sail, hence rag) And I have always called someone who likes power boats,a “stinkpotter” ( get it, stink refers to the motor because of the bad smell the exhaust has from the motor) I am in the USA. Congratulations on your first 5 star stay! When I had traveled I spent a few times at 5 star Hotels, it’s awesome! One thing I did a or of was staying in cheap guest houses and taking some of my meals at 5 star hotels.

I am 59 years old. I read that and think NO WAY! Because inside I am still so full of life and wonder and crave adventures. But I've spent the past two years in quarantine, alone with my dog, no friends or family. Most of the time I'm okay with that, but often I'm not and miss living life and being out in the world, safe and free. People like you have been my lifeline, and I'm so grateful. You're doing things that I either can't do physically or can't afford, whether due to covid or just those things. You keep me young and connected to life.
