This was recorded at the same studio that Dale & Grace recorded it back in the 1960's. Not only that - but we used the same microphones, drums, piano, etc.. No overdubbing here! Just straight up music.

My husband, Scott, passed away in December 2022. He had esophageal and trachea cancer that was Stage 4 when he was diagnosed the day after his 67th birthday. His death was extremely traumatic and reminds us daily of how hard he fought to stay with us. He had the biggest crush on Yvette Landry and I had one on Roddy. When this song came out he would play it over & over. December will mark the first anniversary of his passing. If only for 3 minutes, thank you both for bringing him back to me. 💔

Straight up raunchy tonk, no chaser. From the sleazy slide opening to the cheap bass walk up at the end, what's not to love? The piano and drums are no frills and no mercy. The best is the setting of the tune in a range where the voices are so close it's chilling. The guy's got a snarly attack and a great vibrato, and when the girl comes in low and purring on her verse it's like a velvet sledgehammer. I had only heard one recording of this song. I thought it was Juice Newton, but I guess not. After I heard this I checked out a couple of different versions but none of them could hold a candle to you guys. Peace....

I kinda stumbled into this. As a kid I remember this song from the 70's and it stuck with me. Now this is truly a performance well done and recorded. I know this might sound silly, but this version to me has more of the 1960's authenticity - very warm and expressive vocals - thank you for this 😊

the quality of the project resides not only in the classic material that was chosen but also the production, in this case black and white film, and that loose but cozy environment at the sound studio. but of course, before anything else, to the top notch talent of the performers, specially Yvette and Roddie who we can see very much at home handling the song and providing a very personal interpretation. i am glad i came across this video clip.

Wow Ms. Landry superb, beautiful vesrion of this tune.. I found this video by hearing the Dale and Grace version but you guys just kill it man. I cannot explain it but it was smooth, genuine and just flowing. I feel traces of James Burton, Al Perkins and Toby Beau mixed with old country and southern hospitality ,lol.. Glad I found you! My band's friend engineer/musician the late Steve Burgh had worked with musicians such as yourself in the cajun/country genre. He used to have a studio in Manhattan and we used to eat at a French restaurant there called Café Un Deux Trois on W44ST. lol . Anyway, I will check out more of your videos . I would love to have you do a song we've written not sure which one but it would be a dream.. We had some known vocalists like Deb Lyons and Carole Sylvan work with us. We don't tour anymore but we still write and record. Anyway God bless. I regret not discovering this version and apologize for my musical ignorance. Life is interesting. Who are those girls, the family in other videos, Leblanc? They are great singers and musicians wow.. Peace Yvette!

Who are these people? This is one of the most beautiful renditions of this song we have ever heard. They have made this even better than Dale and Grace, whom we thought no one could ever come up to. Their voices blend together perfectly and we went nuts over the guitar player. Does this couple have any recordings out there? They should have if they don't. And if they do, my husband and I want them. Cookie and Steve Morris, Illinois

Beautiful. But for me Helen Cornelius edges it because of her pure Country twang (with Jim Ed Brown)
