I’m leaving Paris for good… for now. It’s been a crazy 6 months of lawyer life, rosé by the Seine, 2-3 croissants a day, and un peu de français 👨‍🎨 Living abroad is a crazy experience that I’ve been so so lucky to experience (again) - it opens you up to slightly different ways of living, working and thinking. So in this video, I reflect on 6 month in Paris - capital of food, romance and dog sh*t - to share the good, the bad, and the life-changing, all while navigating my way back to good old London 🚗
But seriously, if you are fortunate enough to get the chance to live abroad at some point, find a way to do it if you can. It produces some of the toughest times, but also the best times, and you’ll be a better person by the end of it 🙌

I'm a trainee lawyer, part-time KZbinr, son, brother, startup founder, boyfriend, black coffee drinker and plant dad. I graduated from Cambridge University (where I studied French and Spanish), topped my law school class and now work for a corporate law firm in London as a trainee solicitor (which takes up a lot of my time)!
Around that, I'm a big fan of discovering new ways of thinking, of balancing work with life, and of performing to the very best of my ability. Ohh, and being happy. And I try to share all that on this KZbin channel 😀

I agree with you, the opportunities to live abroad are incredible. I worked for 15 years in Paris, and 9 years ago my company relocated me for more than a year in London, and then for 7 years in California, and it is one year I am now working in Spain. It is really changing your mindset, how to approach things and at the end as a human we adapt super quickly to any new environment. Keep continuing in having overseas prof experience, it is a game changer!

Thanks so much :) It's a Boulies chair - they have a few different ones, but it's one of the more office looking ones. They are quite expensive, but it is extremely comfy imo!!

What’s different about French working culture?

I think generally a slightly less intense rush - things still need to get done quickly, people have to work really hard, etc., but it's not (as much!) "I need this in the next 30 minutes", or at least that was my experience. Slightly more time for actually enjoying getting to know your colleagues too through lunches, coffees etc., which I think we've lost a bit here, especially since the pandemic :) Just my opinion though!

I just got back from Paris and London for a vacation. There’s no clear winner, but I have to say that I had to pick, I’d pick Paris. Of course being a tourist is way different from actually live and work there. Would you make a video comparing the two cities? That would be awesome.
