Ashley, as I am preparing to travel to Italy (Altamonte) next year, to hopefully secure a retirement home and, I was curious, I want to be able to speak conversational Italian before I visit. Like you, I also speak English and Spanish and believe that will help me absorb the language as much as possible prior to full immersion. If I had to get a book on Italian, would that suit me well, or should I pick up something else that is a little more locally inspired dialect? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hey, could you please give me an insight about the project happening in Calabria? I saw a news saying Calabria is providing residents to live in Calabria, and also providing some incentives. Could you please let me know if it is available for people residing outside of Italy? I am from India by the way. And great video. Keep up the great work.

My great grandmother on my mother's side was Mary Frances De Bartoli (maiden name) De Santi (husband's surname) and she was from Cosenza. I heard she was from a noble family. She was from Provincia di Cosenza Calabria, Italy and her father was from Acri, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy does anyone know her family. Well, she immigrated to the US in 1900.

Ashley Torrano awesome I’ll give that a watch right away! I’m actually going to live in Italy permanently next year too! This lockdown slowed my Plan on living there down but nevertheless I’m excited, no more bad weather in the UK! Also love what you said about the difference between Italians and Calabrians. Calabrians are very generous and have a very slow paced/chilled way of life! They’ll open their door to anyone, which is a lovely thing which most of the families are taught. Great values! A lot of people are put off and mislead to think that because if the mafia there is a lot of bad but actually it’s quite the opposite. Big tempers and big hearts a lot of the time work hand in hand. I’m so used to saying “I’m not angry, I’m passionate”😂 I’m also happy that you mentioned about agriculture, that is one if the main reasons I’m moving there. Fortunately my father got taught a lot about this stuff since he father owned land and was a farmer out of enjoyment. Be awesome to share a glass of wine and talk, you really have taken from your Calabrian roots! 😁

That’s a tough one! It might sound cliche but I think the prettiest and the one with the best and most functional infrastructure is Tropea. But there are many, many beautiful beaches.
