Is the application process harder because of COVID? I heard that they’re not in desire of teachers cause of online school

i think it is a little harder because some schools only want to hire teachers that are already in korea and with the visa process i heard that they aren’t granting visas to people from certain countries due to the new strains of covid

i applied to private hagwons through a recruiter! you can search daves esl cafe and a ton of listings will pop up. you can also search up teaching english in korea recruiters on google and they can help you with the process step-by-step

Just wondering about you moving to Korea. I’ll be going there the beginning of 2021 for a church mission. It will last 18 months. Just curious how getting stuff ready worked for you with the virus going on. Is it dumb to ask but are the borders opened or closed or is it where special cases can enter or leave. Is it different for people who will be moving there like they can come and not tourists? If something happens with that then I’ll be temporarily reassigned somewhere else so I’m just wondering.

hi there! so to my knowledge korea is allowing in certain people coming into the country depending on the type of visa you have... at this time i do not believe tourists are allowed in but people that are coming in for work are allowed as well as people with family emergencies, students, etc. i would check with either the korean consulate or your church for further information. i obtained an E2 visa but yours would be different!
