I rebuild the forward reverse clutch pack on this Massey Ferguson 30 or 300 industrial tractor.
The machine is for sale. Located in North West Illinois. Runs great, digs fine, has a front bucket in good condition. All new hoses. All cylinders repacked. New head gasket. New radiator. Leaks a bit from the front main seal and injection pump. Left brake works, Right does not. Master cylinder leaks. Owner wants $5k.

I'm a journeyman mechanic for over 40 years. I really enjoy the kind and style of content that doesn't pull punches. Everybody makes mistakes you do, whatever it's all good. Just really enjoy just watching a guy work through a job and and making it happen one way or another!! Without the feeling that you put on an act and are trying to be either naive or being foolish. You're pretty genuine competent mechanic!! All the best from Surrey BC Canada

I've worked in I.T. for 25 years, and I deal with the same thing. I recently left the VAR space because I just didn't want to deal with the stress and anxiety anymore. Work 100 hours on prepping a network cutover for a big customer and a week before the cut you get the "pre-cut jitters". What did I miss during discovery? Did I configure everything correctly? Did the customer tell me about any weird corner-case somethingorother? Is there something that the equipment vendor hasn't documented that's going to screw me once I cut this thing over? Every. Single. Project. A million things to think about and all it takes is one or two little mistakes and you're on a 36-hour mission to not go out back and commit seppuku because now everything is down and the customer is wondering why they're paying $250/hr. for you to run the project.

Thank you for telling me I am not alone with this. I am a car mechanic. I usally just do brake work and services and stuff. But my mind keeps tormenting me at night. My mind ask me over and over about the same questions: Did you torque the brakes? Did you torque the Oilfilter or Drainplug? Have you filled the car with oil? The answer is always yes but If you ask enough times it will fuck with your memory. Then trying to catch some sleep while your brain plays a scene of somebody not able to brake or an engine on selfdestruct. Ofcourse I double and triple check my work. But something keeps nagging on me.

Being an airplane mechanic for 40 years, I am still disgusted at that NOVA documentary about the attempted rescue of that B29 frozen in the ice. They literally killed one of the mechanics from overwork and then wound up burning the airplane down because of their negligence in securing the portable gas tank for the APU. It stinks to the high heaven of pilots forcing mechanics to perform miracles to feed their own egos.

Being a small Mom and Pop establishment telephone calls, customers needing to talk, reps. doing the regular calls and so on interruptions were frequent, got to accept those. Finished the rebuild, motor back in the frame, clear up the tools, packets, and oddments before going out on test. Hell what's that damned Honda 4 cylinder oil pump doing on the bench near the vice. Yes I had !. Back to work again, never made that mistake again, but you do sometimes just wonder where you had got to when you had to leave off. Luckily it was a bike bought for stock, not a direct customers.

Wow, it's nice to see it's together and running (forward and reverse, stopping is optional). The ending was a bit "ominous" and I am hoping that's not the real end of your video career on KZbin. Like other commentors here, I (along with many others) have been following you since your early videos in the old shop, all the content was worth watch and re-watching. I am hoping your just "toying" with us all with the suggestion that your "closing". You have a unique skill set Wes, you embrace "challenges" other shops walk away from, that's what makes you valuable, you embrace the challenge in diagnostics and trouble shooting. That, in of it's self, is a marketable talent and you should be paid accordingly. Not every mechanic or technician can do what you do, nor would they, if it can't be done in a specific time in their minds, it's a waste of money. Some folks like their old gear, it's worked it's make them money or served them well over the years. As the phrase goes, "they have fallen in love with old iron" and as any old vehicle guy knows too well that, "love affair" costs money to have it continue. Hoping your doing well, I as many others hope to see more content from you (I am waiting to see the Goldwing job). Thank You for the time you invest in putting out the videos. Then when you were doing your final testing out in the yard and you said it didn't have any brakes..... I knew exactly what tore up that clutch pack! No, no,no, no! This cannot be the final WWW video! I check YT everyday, sometimes multiple times a day for your latest. I find your presentation style, your diagnostic skills , your humour and that I feel part of every video so unique. It took me so long to post a comment after watching the show cause I thought there was a “punchline” and it would be revealed within days. But I’m still waiting…….

Not sure how i feel about you closing shop. I trust you'll do whats best for you and your family. Started out watching you rehab machine tools. Then fixing up a rollback to move them around. I watched an Estwing lump hammer go from bright blue brand new to the grizzled veteran it is today. No matter what direction you're headed, thanks for showing how much you care.

I saw that PBS documentary when I was young. It was so interesting to see all that work being done, and all the challenges they faced. Could never anticipate that ending - was such a shocker. Was heartbreaking to see it catch fire like that. So devastating - all that work, all their sacrifice, destroyed in minutes. No happy ending that time.

One contractor I worked for had a Petibone fork lift. It also went forward, backward but had no brakes. When operating on a hill you had to keep the forward or reverse pedal engaged and engine braking kept you under control. One day a new laborer jumped on the lift and headed around and down the hill. Took his foot off the forward pedal and stepped on the brake. And away he went! Fortunately he had a clear runway and bounced down the hill. Everyone was yelling to step on the forward pedal but that didn't make any sense to the poor guy trying to stop. I don't remember but I think the owner finally fixed the darn thing!😊
