I've worked in I.T. for 25 years, and I deal with the same thing. I recently left the VAR space because I just didn't want to deal with the stress and anxiety anymore. Work 100 hours on prepping a network cutover for a big customer and a week before the cut you get the "pre-cut jitters". What did I miss during discovery? Did I configure everything correctly? Did the customer tell me about any weird corner-case somethingorother? Is there something that the equipment vendor hasn't documented that's going to screw me once I cut this thing over? Every. Single. Project. A million things to think about and all it takes is one or two little mistakes and you're on a 36-hour mission to not go out back and commit seppuku because now everything is down and the customer is wondering why they're paying $250/hr. for you to run the project.

The answer is always yes but If you ask enough times it will fuck with your memory. Then trying to catch some sleep while your brain plays a scene of somebody not able to brake or an engine on selfdestruct. Ofcourse I double and triple check my work. Being an airplane mechanic for 40 years, I am still disgusted at that NOVA documentary about the attempted rescue of that B29 frozen in the ice. It stinks to the high heaven of pilots forcing mechanics to perform miracles to feed their own egos.

Wow, it's nice to see it's together and running (forward and reverse, stopping is optional). The ending was a bit "ominous" and I am hoping that's not the real end of your video career on KZbin. Like other commentors here, I (along with many others) have been following you since your early videos in the old shop, all the content was worth watch and re-watching. I am hoping your just "toying" with us all with the suggestion that your "closing". You have a unique skill set Wes, you embrace "challenges" other shops walk away from, that's what makes you valuable, you embrace the challenge in diagnostics and trouble shooting. That, in of it's self, is a marketable talent and you should be paid accordingly. Not every mechanic or technician can do what you do, nor would they, if it can't be done in a specific time in their minds, it's a waste of money. Some folks like their old gear, it's worked it's make them money or served them well over the years. As the phrase goes, "they have fallen in love with old iron" and as any old vehicle guy knows too well that, "love affair" costs money to have it continue. Hoping your doing well, I as many others hope to see more content from you (I am waiting to see the Goldwing job). Thank You for the time you invest in putting out the videos. Some folks are born with that interest, and I didn't realize that most people are either fearful or uninterested in such things until I was middle-aged. After hearing people say things like "Where did you learn that?" or "I didn't know you were trained to do that." so many times, I figured out my lack of fear for tearing into the unknown must be rare. The lack of fear of tearing into such things by no means implies any high degree of success in repairing the said item. Still, eventually, the process yields benefits of knowledge and satisfaction of understanding. I do not share the fear of detail failure as I have long seen it as the payment required for the education I gain in doing. It is frustrating nonetheless, though. These days, I find it fantastic that I can virtually explore so many things I've never torn into by proxy of watching Wes or others do it before my eyes.

I too share the excitement of tearing down something I've never worked on before. Not so keen on the "put it back together" side of things -- that's just work!

The finesse required to disassemble and reassemble that clutch should be relegated to a skilled mechanic only; You are he. Your confidence, skill and humor make it so worth while. Stellar video. Thanks, Wes.

Without doubt, your channel is entertaining informative, witty and a testament to your skill set. I can't believe your ability to tackle jobs that most mechanics would run a mile from. I'm sure whatever you have planned you will continue to share your adventures with us! Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧

I watch re-runs of WWW episodes…even some of the old school episodes from the old shop. Hope this channel doesn’t go away. Solid content.

Just a note confirming what many here have already stated, but I will add to them the following. The fact that you're from "my general area" for me adds to the appeal. Your sense of humor and working style are very relatable, and make your channel a very easy watch. While I am fearing the cliffhanger ending a bit, I also realize that in life people/families (and with them priorities) can and do change. And how you've been able to keep up with the shop's schedule along with creating the content we see here...I honestly don't know how my favorite contributors juggle both of those commitments, let alone combining those with family life (which is ALWAYS the #1 priority...or at least should be #1). Anything at all you have decided regarding the future of this channel and any changes coming, you have my support. My personal opinion is I have no right to really desire anything from you because in my book this was all a free look at someone doing something they love to do anyway...so no biggie there. Therefore, best of luck going forward, I cannot thank you enough for the years of quality entertainment you've provided for me, and I hope to see more content here in the future if at all possible.

Love the cliff hanger, your struggles show the reality of the industry. Thanks for the honesty, bought so many tools and diagnosed so many issues after seeing you do it, what an inspiration you are, I look forward to your videos more than any other.

Thanks for the great video. It was a fairly significant project and complex. You've put in massive effort for your customers, maintaining stuff that was abused and neglected. I'll be interested in seeing where you go next.

I personally know that feeling finishings up a very large project and wondering if it is going to work. And when it does, nothing can replace that feeling that you accomplished the project and can now move on... I hope whatever you decide to do, you continue videoing your efforts whatever it could be. You have a vast knowledge of so many things, especially electronics. Maybe you can design some amazing circuitries and market them... IDK Thumbs Up!

I saw that PBS documentary when I was young. It was so interesting to see all that work being done, and all the challenges they faced. Could never anticipate that ending - was such a shocker. Was heartbreaking to see it catch fire like that. So devastating - all that work, all their sacrifice, destroyed in minutes. No happy ending that time.
