To be fair, I have panicked and done that before. The thrill of terror at seeing someone snapped in half in front of you sometimes makes you forget that there is a kill cooldown. My reaction is always "RUN. RUN OR THEY'LL KILL YOU TOO."

I'm happy Ross got to be crewmate again in this video, I know how much he loves the tasks and doing his little jobs. If I ever had to be an imposter in this game, I would literally uninstall it on the spot, I exclusively want to brush leaves out of the airlock.

So with smithy saying he wishes there could be a way to counter being assassinated.. there should be a mechanic in the game that lets Imposters and Crewmates carry an item. One of those items could be a 1 time counter dazing the Imposter for 5seconds (enough time to run away), the other could be as a ghost you can call 1 meeting. And the imposters have a ghost trap (can be disabled by crewmates so you cant just place it) that stops the ghost calling a meeting, and the imposter could use an anti daze once per game. Would add some dynamic to the game instead of tasks tasks tasks
