Fun fact: The term incel was coined by a woman. She made a website documenting her failures in getting dates, and thought people with similar issues could talk and meet up. This sprialed out of control, to the point that she closed the website down, and ade a new one called "Love not War", if I remember correctly. So, the therm incel already actually was gender neutral. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

While the term is technically gender neutral, the femcel phenomenon is distinct; it is NOT the 'gendered opposite of incel'. Femcels tend to be left leaning and think highly of themselves. The best example of a gendered opposite to an incel is actually a TERF (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist) because, like incels, they are far-right boys/women who screech about what 'real men/women' are supposed to be while pretending to be victims of a cruel scheme by women/trans people, and touting a return to some made-up bullshit past.
