in my opinion, the best gospel and spiritual music is the choir one with lots of bass and high-pitched voices covering a wide register, very complex, but not the calculated complexity of present-day choir music. something like louis armstrong's 'go down moses'. or Golden Gospel Singers 'Hush' - but with a rhythm
