This is easily the best reaction I've seen to this song. As a white man I like to watch black people react to things like this to gain a new perspective, and I've noticed a lot of reactors completely miss the point of this song. You guys are so open minded and had some really good feedback 🙏

You guys get it. I’ve seen a few reactions to this where they pick a side (usually of their own race) and completely miss the point of the video. Both verses are inherently racist.. both sides are right and wrong in their own ways and it’s more about how we should understand each other instead of picking a side. This song has such a beautiful message and it’s a shame that it goes over so many peoples heads, but y’all get it! Amazing reaction.

That's so sad when you have to ask someone how does all lives matter make you feel.
@robbie5138
@robbie5138 8 ай бұрын
Well when "All lives matter" just like "Blue Lives Matter" are just a counter protest to "Black Lives Matter". The phrasing BLM does not mean they want their lives to matter More, or else idk they would have added it to the end of BLM and make it BLMM. Doing counter protest to someone's protest just shows you don't care to listen to the issue they have. It's really sad that if you are saying ALM then you should be in favor as BLM as they are part of "All Lives" right unless you think Black lives don't matter, then you'd be going against All Lives Matter
@ezekielx7536
@ezekielx7536 7 ай бұрын
We know that all lives matter but when someone is protesting to say our lives matter too, if you reply with “all lives matter” you are being ignorant to what they’re trying to highlight due to the events happening at that time. Example, Palestinian lives matter. 30k dead. Would you then reply with “but all lives matter” ??

In case you didn't know neither of the people in this video are Joyner Lucas. He is an African-American rapper. But he's spitting the truth from both sides. I'm not American, we don't have that history here, and not black so obviously my point of view might not be valid at all. I am a broke white. I've been a fan of hip hop ever since I can remember. If the songs and movies about your culture are anything to go by African-American culture seems very self destructive. Calling each other the n-word all day doesn't seem healthy. Holding on to the past like that doesn't seem productive. Keeping up the whole "ghetto vocabulary" isn't helping either. We're more into classism than racism here. I speak like the broke-white person I am and it does me no favors. I have to "prove myself" to anyone I talk to because the way I talk doesn't invoke trust and if I get a job it's because someone wants to "give me a chance". Who's winning in that context? It's not you or your brothers and sisters. There's a lot of negativity and self deprecation and it's not healthy for a community to thrive.
@matthews4625
@matthews4625 8 ай бұрын
Not “the truth”, he is showing the extremes from both sides. He’s stereotyping from both sides. None of us are the same or think the same, and that’s one of the most beautiful thing about humans, we’re all the same while also all different. But that’s just my view on it.

We are here in Brasil. Most of this stuff makes no sense to us. We live in a mostly black folk city. I've never felt anything but respect here and gave the same respect here and I'm white as hell, my wife is black. She went to the U.S. for some schooling and couldn't believe how white folks were there, like they were walking on eggshells around blacks.

As a third party looking at america we can see the lack of faith in jesus christ. God gave adam and eve the authority to name his creations included his children, so the parents did and named their children in respect, so why call them slurs? Even if people say no this is no slur and we try to claim it back, it is a slur. God said love each other end not to kill eatch other, to hinder them to thrive to a good honest honorfull live, not to be racists, not to look at the color because we are all his creations. Confess the sins and forgive and be better than the past. And not to live in the past bring the past always up to escape and not to push responsibility. All that went down the river, confess and repent and start loving each other, bevahe appropriately and and Jesus said dont be hypocrites. Its sad that so many Communities dont recognize their sins

The n word just meant ignorant before its use towards the community. That’s why I personally believe it’s not racist unless you make it. Just like the words like c word anything else. It had one meaning and they soecified it for a race - that in itself is racist. That’s my view point on it.

The reason he was rubbing the white dude's back, which may have looked weird, is because in real life, they are very close friends. Of course Joyner was voicing both sides. I considered this video as thought provoking. So many things that black people do that I don't like. So what. There are also so many things that white people do that I don't like.

EDIT: nah i really love yo guys thinking and perspectives..

At first, I was going to say the video makes me kind of sad, but it really isn't the video it's more the reactions I've seen to it, not yours. I completely understand and respect that it is joyner Lucas's art portraying his perception of the topic, and this is his way of starting the discussion, and I can respect that. To me, it seemed as if the first guy came on, and the first thing you hear is racial slurs. And he continues just talking down to the second guy. So it's like you're caught off guard, and it evokes a strong emotional response. From the reaction videos I've watched, it was a lot of uncomfort felt during that first verse. And it seemed like by the second verse, it came off to me as much less antagonistic because he was more or less defending himself against the first guys view. So it felt like less of a punch than the first. So I tried to really think about that and the best way I can try to explain it it's like when you see something that's unprovoked and someone stands up for themselves almost as the underdog, like if you were to see bullying in a movie and the character finally stands up to the bully it almost felt like that. What made me sad was that a majority of the reactions I've seen showed relief and seemed encouraged by the things the second guy said in his defense (some even were very vocal about saying "yeah tell him! ect). I can understand why because even I felt it as less of a punch, even though I know the two wrongs don't make a right and we shouldn't fight hate with hate. I, too, was uncomfortable with the first verse. So it felt like even at the end of the video, the first guy seemed the aggressor. so it has made me think how do we now see those who he is supposed to stereotype? Also I did notice what you guys had touched on which was the second guy flipping the table and knocking the first guy's hat off, and I think that I'm most portrayed him in more negative light. Ideally discussions wouldn't be this agressive as we cant always truky hear others point of view when we are mad. But I also understand that if we can not allow others to speak their true feelings, then we can not ever move forward and we will never hash out the misunderstandings that we have of one another. I do like the quote he added at the very end. Again, i understand this is from his perspective, and I think this is his truth, and I don't take that from him. It's just kind of something to look at or a thought to think about. Curious, does what I'm saying make sense, or how do you guys feel about what I said? You're the first video I've commented on because I actually felt that your reaction was the most open I've come across. I hope everything I said made sense, I appreciate your openness on your reactions. Love and respect ❤

Im from east coast canada and up here everyone in so conservative ...not just raceism but every kind of ism ...people all tippy toe around it ...and feel oblagated to correct you the second they here anyword they think is wrong....and were tearing down our history and past because of it and without the history and past no one will grow from it and it opens oppertunity to repeat itself .....i dont go around useing the n word ...but if its in a song or a funny joke im not gonna silance myself from saying it ...exzample i love little dicky chris brown freaky friday ...and when they say the n word i im not gonna not sing that part .....thats foolish ....like the f word its a word that started with just hateful meaning but the word has evolved ...we should respect the older generations feelings about it and understand the words history before useing it and the younger generations need to evolve from the past the one side needs to move on from the past and the other side needs to learn to respect what it ment and understand its a word you shouldent shy from but use properly and appropriately.....sorry if i offended anyone its my opinnion alone
