In 2015 I supported Sanders, in part because: 1) I knew I didn't want HRC, 2) what I saw concerning Trump made him appear no better, 3) the Libertarian appeared ignorant of basic facts about the world, and 4) Sanders was wrong on 90% but would at least address a couple of my issues indirectly, and I felt he was the only one listening sufficiently to perhaps try and avoid a civil war. I ended up voting for Jill Stein because I couldn't find a reset button for everyone to choose a different candidate and try again. Since then, the President and the Democratic Party have convinced me that President Trump is not merely the best possible outcome, but the best G-d intended outcome possible. After being 'unfriended' by most of those whom I knew in college, in the military, in high school, and had as friends since then due to my unwillingness to be a Leftist, to denounce G-d, to pretend the sacred is make-believe, to renounce 'a priori' values/negative rights, to agree to the destruction of the Constitution, to define myself as evil because of the genetics with which I was born, and decry myself as the epitome of tyranny because of the sex organs between my legs I no longer give a crap: I no longer care if we avoid a civil war. I am not capable of surviving one, but I don't care about that either. My tolerance for the Left, for the urban idiots, is done. They are traitors to everything it means to be an American and everything it must always mean to be an American.

Mat HAS had some just "Dumb Luck" (having someone call him out of the blue, that not only said, "We've got to get you back to work, back to what you LOVE"; but also having the resources/connections to make it happen). But Mat would have been Mat regardless. He's just that Charismatic Leader that you would do anything for. If I were in a position to Mentor a young person today? I would certainly point to Mat as someone to emulate and look up to. One of the things that makes Mat MAT is his desire and ability to do everything he does to his absolute BEST (no pun intended, but appreciated none the less).

"They work." Great answer! I am a Veteran, and I have had NO trouble succeeding in anything I have taken on in life. The reason: I work harder than everyone else, without even realizing I am doing it. It's in the mindset, and it never goes away. You see the task(s) before you, and there is no bullshit clouding your mind between you and the task. When it's time to work...you just do the f__king work. You are actually surprised when people compliment you about this (and they do...alot), because to you...you aren't doing anything special. You are just treating your work...normally. A great benefit of that, if you are so inclined, is that you start to realize that no Non-Veterans can keep up with you, so you are not afraid to tell the boss to stuck it and break out on your own. I got my business degrees right after getting out, worked for others for a few years after college...and then spent most of my career running my own businesses. I NEVER found any difficulty making a living, and although I went to college...it was the military that caused my lifelong success.

Glenn love your show and the white board investigating. But having so many relatives and friends who served for our freedoms, and needed to drownd the horrors they experienced, so they could sleep 3 or 4 hrs a night. And then deal with the diverse civilians who have no idea what they went through. Thank you for his interview with you.

Wow this was one of the best podcasts I have ever heard. Thank you for doing this I have been a struggling public service provider for over 22 years and have often struggled with finding a purpose. I have a list of the top ten people I want to meet in my life and both of these men are on this short list.

Good for you. I don't understand demarcation of ones body. Abused people get tattoos to claim ownership of their body, so there must be some element in the need to tattoo with everyone else who does also. Beside the horrible toxicity of the ink, I like the human body and skin without the distraction of colored graphics

Veteran Patriots that make great coffee and take care of their own with a HUGE amount of humility (may be hard to see if your blind), awesome sense of humor and understand and truly believe in the constitution for everyone; that 's why I drink Black Rifle Coffee.

After seeing his videos way back in 2014. I never would've thought he was a very reserved and well spoken guy. Loved the interview. He really speaks a lot of truth in how veterans thought while serving and while getting out.

Glad I am old enough to see talent, not be intimidated, and instantly want to know this person and help them grow. Mat, you are an amazing talent. Thank you for serving (25+ years here), we were lucky to have you for the time we did. My 2 cents: hold on for dear life to the amazing woman that is helping you become the man you are destined to be. You are not done in this life. You have proven your ability to be a hero, be an entrepreneur, be wealthy... what do you want to be next? I would love to see you solve an American or World problem of your choice. I have faith that you will succeed at something you find passion in. “Keep up the fire.”

@@idid138 , Yes I think we have so many without a clue, mostly Washington, State, etc, because they've never had a taste of Real! Also it would make our Graduated 18-19 yr olds understand so much more, then they could make a decision on college, or military carier, or very similar.

In the early 80's there were places outside of base that had signs that read "sailors and dogs keep off the grass" I made it a point to take those shortcuts :)

Those shortcuts led to the ODU college bars, and inevitable brawls where we were always the last ones standing. Yeah, I remember em too!!!👍😀

Why do vets serve, in my case I served and have two honorable discharges because I know how great freedom is and how horrible it is not to have freedom, the oath that we take we first swear our allegiance to the Constitution, secondly to our commanders and the commander and chief, why because men can violate the constitution and that's why we swear our allegiance first to the Constitution to defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic, it is important that you know and understand the Constitution of the United States and how would says our system is supposed to work, the Federalist papers is where our founding fathers talked about the Constitution that they wrote and what it meant so there is a clear understanding possible if you're going to serve you must understand what it is you're serving, and that is protecting the rights of the American people their freedom !!!

I couldn't pass to serve, my brother did, but i highly respect everyone who has, and the sacrifice you all have made. If needed i would stand in front of you. And that's no joke. God bless all. And thank you all.💚💙❤

Mat Best, in my opinion, is the pinnacle of what a GREAT American is and should inspire to be. We need more gentlemen like him, particularly in Hollywood. If he has a passion for film and writing, someone cast him in films or sponsor his scripts. He has a tremendous on screen presence and if wait too long, he’ll be gone, and we’ve missed the chance to let a great America, a great person, that chance to truly shine on global scale.

Is amazing, how alike we all our after the military or life's experiences have shaped us. I love having that sense of purpose day to day. Since, I have gotten out, finding that sense of purpose is very hard to do, I would love to find it again.

"The rain makes you enjoy the sunshine..." or however he put it...makes the point perfectly! I am a Veteran. But I am older now. I served at the end of the Cold War. I was in during Desert Storm, but my ship was headed for the shipyards, so I did not personally go over. I am just a regular Vet, not a combat Vet, who left the service in 1992. Then, 9 years after I got out, 3 years after I graduated college, 9-11 happened. Wars started happening one after the next, and so the need for Sailors, Marines and Soldiers to go fight all of these wars increased exponentially. Mat espouses the things that ALL of we Veterans are exposed to, and most of us learn and take on as our "world view." But in MY generation, there just weren't so MANY of us, as there are today, out there trying to teach these lessons to those who never served. War sucks. It is a means of last resort. I will never advocate for sending someone else to fight, now that I have aged out. But I understand why it is necessary. That said, the sunshine that comes from it is that THIS generation has so MANY Veterans, that we are finally starting to make an impact upon those we can teach! You are doing good work, Mat. Your coffee is still too expensive (haha), but I buy it anyway, because I like what you guys do with a share of the profits...and I REALLY like helping to create reasons for Veterans to get a microphone to try and explain why we always win to those who do not understand it. Keep up the great work, man! Even us older guys appreciate you!
