I saw an old one back in like S15 or so, but things are slightly different since the zoom changes (mostly SMG range outliers are gone and 120/140 gap is bigger). But yeah, it's super helpful as a way to help visualize that information. I tell people that the reason DMT was historically so good was because its accurate hipfire and prenerf rate of fire meant that it was capable of handling engagements at much closer ranges than your average scout without just getting blown up by 140s or SMGs. The Donut of Effective Range was thicc. Actually, maybe a circular version of the chart would be even more rad. Maybe have one of those callout maps at low opacity over it if the scale could be made correctly...

I tried using scouts and was struggling this week until I went flawless with a typical 120 conditional loadout, got away with this due to stasis warlock and glacier grenades for cover. People still don’t understand how strong shadebinder is, it’s easily top 5 subclasses in the game

I was actually working on this exact argument for a different gun last night. I figured that I needed to put the spreadsheet away before I started bugging my friends to help me with going into individual maps and measuring the ranges of popular angles. The ideal engagement ranges for every weapon are nice to have in a vacuum, but they don't tell the whole story. If the angles on a map are only very short and very long an auto rifle isn't going to be all that valuable because it'll lose on TTK to Sidearms/SMGs, and lose on Range to Scouts/Pulses.

Nothing against Cammy but I did the Catalyst for this recently and let me tell you it was NOT fun. Its a 4 to 5 shot depending on your aim and team. So most of the time I would get to one shot and they would then get to cover. Smh it was...a headache...

I only pull out the MIDA's to work on the Catalyst, as I'm a PVP scrub and Precision kills are scary. HOWEVER, with how the sandbox is at the moment, it doesn't feel like a death sentence to bring it out and I've been seeing some success, even in Comp.

As a complete noobster who has been playing trials solo for 2 weeks, I ended up using MIDA multitool + Calus minitool (Peacekeepers) instead of Jade Rabbit + Auto/Sidearm, for the simplefact that it allowed me to keep the radar up while ADS. 100% agreed with your point. I've been experiencing similar stuff when played with Jade Rabbit. But mainly I play with DMT. It feels quite same when you play with DMT since Bungie nerfed-buffed-nerfed and on and on this gun ever since it came out in S13. I have two same perk combinations, but with different perks (Vorpal weapon for Mayhem/Moving Target for QP and Comp) As for the gameplay, it feels somewhat like this: *Aim for space between head and HP bar of your opponent for landing headshots. Here's what I've summarized the info I've gathered ever since maining this weapon: Stability: Stability rework also affected this weapon, for example you'll need for about 6-10 tier resil and 50 points in stability stat gives you enough flinch resistance to not get your screen flinched up into air when ADS. Plus as far as I know, it also removes the bloom (which can be explained as in-game simulation for flinch) Range: When it comes to using this gun for cowboy action a.k.a hipfiring - range matters a lot, cuz of having low range stat can have you experience something called "ghost bullets" (shots may not register properly). Aim assist is okay, but when it comes to hip firing, things go crazy.. You need aim for the space between health bar and the head of the opponent in order to land your headshots.. Summary: Feels great when it comes to having some space cowboy action, looking forward to see Bungie buff this weapon for increased stability stat or for more perk combinations like Keep Away/Offhand Strike/Focused Fury/Hip-Fire Grip(for more hip fire action maybe??)

That’s the problem I was having on burnout. I’ve been a mida main since before they started subclass 3.0 but on burnout that first week of trials it just couldn’t compete in team shooting. Dueling it’s awesome, but team fights is really where you see the gap between using a 120 scout or a 150

I know I’m not good, hang back and use scouts as that’s my play style and I try not to actively disadvantage my teammates, and hearing the thought process and analysis is helpful. I know I’m not getting to the lighthouse with being carried, but the info I’m hoping will improve my own performance.

I'd be interested to see how Polaris Lance stacks up against the other two scouts, I used it for my flawless card this past weekend. I'd bet that it still doesn't come close to Jade Rabbit, but it did work with scorch and ignitions keeping players weak, and it was fun just shooting explosions at the wall to keep other players from pushing when I had it.

Realistically tho Cam, you only need 7 strength for khepri’s. The recharge timer starts the moment it hits a surface and even after the smoke is set off, you get about 2 seconds of recharge time. I found with 7 strength it loops back into itself with like a second or two of downtime before I get my smoke back

Even though I’ve been cooking up more than my fair share of builds following recent changes in the pvp sandbox, I find myself going back to solar precious scars titan. It’s so fun and consistent for being able to gain the upper hand in 2v1s. I’ve paired it with countless different primary combos and although battler, heliocentric, parabellum, chrysura melo, and adhortative are among my favorites, there’s definitely something to be said about running even the oldest and outdated of solar primaries and still outgunning igneous or major gamers. It’s very easy to recommend summoner strictly for heal clip because that and restoration on kill is enough to surprise opponents who are expecting a re-peek. Truly a great build for 3s especially with revives. So far I’d say the most competitive load out is battler with osmosis TC but helio mida is also a contender since that sidearm has surprising range.

I used to use this combo on Titan with Peacekeepers. Multi-tool to outrange HC, and Moving Target Mini-tool to run circles around people. It was fun but not op, haven’t played much in the new sandbox either.

Zone is mid or outside? Take outside control first. Force them to cross the open area to get to you. Everyone seems to walk straight out to the hallways and fight there, but the area you SHOULD want is outside.

Back a couple seasons ago, I went through a phase trying to make both Midas work on console (series S/X for the 60 fps, which was like playing a whole different game compared to 30 fps). It was pre-zoom changes, meaning that even though I really liked the hipfire/KC classic, it came up so much less than other crazy-ranged SMG’s at the time. Ultimately I got so frustrated with Mida Multi compared to everything in the meta that ate it up at every range EXCEPT in whatever the gamemode was that dropped total health (momentum?) - Mida ATE EVERYTHING in that mode by two-tapping faster than everything else that two-tapped. It ended up being almost exclusively the only gun I ever used in the mode before I quit the game.

Been theory crafting a Build all weekend in trials. Was watching Grenader Jake a.k.a. Scooter. He was combining Healing from Worm husk, vigilance (fragment) and a Heal clip kill clip weapon. Sooo.... I delved into strictly Healing from nearly every action. Try this. Void Hunter (Needs for the build, rest is up to you k...) Vigilance & Leeching fragments Kinetic, I use Rat King, but crimson also works. Energy, anything that compliments the range of kinetic w/ Heal Clip & damage perk. Heavy, unrelenting. I use Half Truths. Exotic armor: Worm Husk Required mods, Recuperation & Better already Stats, need 100 mobility & 100 recovery. Premise: get a kill, heal & get damage perk, quickly turn on the second guardian. Currently have 7 ways to heal. Chose not to use Devour, as I was using boot mods to do the same ish job. Hope you like it, if you have suggestions I'm open to anything that fits the premise. Ty

If your goal is to chain kills quickly and heal through the damage of taking several fights in a row, you want Secant Filament voidlock. Child works similar to a bigger, tankier threadling to zone out extra enemies and/or screw with their action economy, Feed the Void gives you buffed devour which you can use to get back suppressor nades to shut down supers or other ability-reliant players, the melee can be used to interfere with shotgunners and barricades, and the best part is the kit is entirely weapon agnostic--you can use basically whatever you think will win your 1v1s. You only really even need Secant Filaments as a way to get Devour in neutral--you can rely on Reaper orbs for that instead if you want Tsteps or whatever. If your goal is to run 6s lobbies I think it's one of the better ways to go about that. In Trials I'd rather take other things just because it's more important to be able to get first pick than try to win multiple fights in a row, so stuff like Icarus Dash and overshields and invis and grapple matter more. In those cases get ye a Heal Clip/Onslaught Summoner, or Zen Moment if aim is a concern for you--other damage perks help as well, but Onslaught comes with a small reload speed bump to help Heal Clip. You'll rely on those two perks for followup engagement power and that frees up your subclass to cover neutral.

So what's up with that aim assist? To clarify what I mean, why does it seem like you can take the scalp off people sometimes and the game registers a body shot? You can see it in the Jade Rabbit clip, it's like you have to aim in the sky above people's heads in order to get headshots. Can't tell you how many of my sniper shots have gone into peoples' shoulders...

Shoulders are wider than heads. If it's close enough between head and shoulders it'll just default to the "more correct" one, which is typically shoulders.

I have 300 kill on multi this weekend and 150 mini, the thing holding it back is the zoom in combination with the range stat. I’m a hunter main with 7 resilience and dubble unflinching. The zoom and range stat make the weapon not effective against its counter part to jade or other longer range. And because the zoom is so high the flinch against the harder hitting scout is unbearable even with no distraction. And the fat scope is also a miss. D1 scope was much better

PVE sweats get a ton of use out of RDM, for whatever it's worth. For a few seasons there RDM rocket dump was optimal-ish DPS if you could execute.

Issue with Mida combo: - it only gives you max mobility. It doesn't even replicate half the power of PK and it forces you to use 2x primaries that are extremely mid Khepri's big issue; - Since the nerf, it only activates when someone steps on the smoke. The problem is that... you just don't know when. Since truesight only lasts a second, you don't get to see your whallhacks because A) you need fast reaction time to see the hitmarker and B) you need to look at a certain area and detect the enemies (even worse with low sens) So by the time you react to the hitmarker, you don't even get to see your whallhacks. Btw, we're not even considering that some mid IQ player can just shoot down your snare bomb or simply do not step on it Build review: Very fun to roleplay as a perfect scout, but very bad to deal vs most competitive options. D tier

Ever since they made it a combined pair I’ve said kills with mini should buff Midi. Cascade point is a solid example or having boxed breathing ready to go. You’re getting rewarded for taking the risk of using a short range mini and it allows a shift in ttk for a period of time. I love Mida but it struggles to be chosen.

guy lists a bunch of exotic hand cannons that do well. well gosh, it's almost like hand cannons have been op for 80 years, what great information cammy. we couldnt have figured that out hand cannon bullies are never going to let mida be good. it was good once and they cried so much they filled the ocean with tears, something about camping in the back, which they cant abide with their keep away rangefinder hand cannons. only they are allowed to camp in the back. also, some scout are what better at what i call lane dominators than others. hung jury and jade are classic examples. but other scouts can be more nimble and play more versatile. Mida and Tears of Contrition (because tears is one of the few lower 19 zoom scouts) are better there. youre going to win more fights at 35 meters with mida than jade. so yes, he did a demonstration that jade is better at lane dominating, so? the best overall scout in the current sandbox is glisando, because it can roll box breathing, drives tacks, and at 20 zoom is more versatile inside 70 meters than the 22 zoom hung jury. personally i played too much with glisando though, and got really bored of it, so even though its the best i'd rather use anything else. also the problem with mida/mida mini imo is more mini. it becomes apparent mini is really the weak link in the loadout. using something like shayuras with mida will yield better results. dont get me wrong throwing on mida/mini for funsies once in a while is cool.

Scouts need to get their range nerfed to 50-60 and get their hipfire buffed so you can defend yourself at mid,close range. There's absolutely zero reason for a gun to have 30-40 whole meters of difference to the next in line gun range whise( aggressive pulses at 42 ) . This maps proved it, getting shot from outside radar and you having to run around the entire map to reach someone is as$, and it's also as$ how a scout player is essentially helpless below 25m because of the bloom on the hipfire.. Reworking them will help them be more viable and it will alleviate one of the core issue as to why people don't like them and make it easier for bungie to balance them. If we gonna talk about niche use then sidearms are niche too but they only have 3m less range and they are used vastly different than smgs with FASTER ttk even and more forgiving.
