@FirstLast-rb5zj10 күн бұрын
I do talks on other platforms about this and have raised an issue. Gaming is a really important part of enjoying life and being able to rest to recover. It is also important for many for training certain skills. This is more than just a bad style as well. Woke is specifically an attempt to indoctrinate and brainwash people through forcing itself upon them by injecting itself into the media they consume. However there often are greater concerns than bad game releases. DEI in games is one problem. The problem is that it's not just in gaming. In my country it is law. I am discriminated against from employment and other opportunities by law in my country which has had Woke reform with DEI having been implemented at the highest levels. This is even the case for voting in our government. Quotas are in place and if there are too many of one type of person then they are removed from the ballot. There is the game on the computer and then there is the game of our entire national system that we live in and depend upon. This situation is more dire than people might appreciate. It is something that impacts your immediate life circumstances and your prospects in life. This is not something that is simply in gaming. It's just highly visible because that's the nature of publishing games. The games industry is down stream. This is happening because this has already fully saturated the UN, UNESCO, national governments, academia, all other critical institutes and is in many cases law. One of the reasons that this is so systematic is because of that. They get tax breaks for it, indemnity, it is required for legal compliance in many jurisdictions and they have a serious problem because they normally hire elite talent through universities and most students are heavily indoctrinated into this. They are at the mercy of the supply available to them. There are many games companies that went Woke but had zero intention of doing so. Nothing meaningfully changed in respect to how they ran their companies. They would put out job offers just as always asking for graduates of universities with at least a fair reputation, the appropriate qualifications and in the appropriate field.

1:15 The difference between woke and progressive is that woke takes it too far. Woke is taking progress views and then hiding hate and toxicity behind those views. Jeopardizing the entire product to push an agenda that isnt actually widely accepted. Progressive games (Bayonetta, hellblade, the walking dead, ratchet and clank rift apart, final fantasy, ect) , gives you representation/diversity/cultural understanding/and views on social ideas AS A DETAIL! There is an entire story/game behind those details that doesnt rely on those details. A woke game (dustborn, Dragon age: Veilguard, concord, suicide squad KTJL, ect) are ONLY a vessel to push an agenda/message. The gameplay/story takes a back seat so an agenda can lead. Get the progressive values before, but back them with the EXACT hatred these values supposedly stand against, while being presented immaturely as if it was made by 14 year olds. Woke games currently are being made almost as a protest due to anger against the current political climate. Woke games wont succeed because they're NOT made to succeed. Theyre made to force feed you agendas and give self absorbed devs a means to self insert for their ego. If the game fails and the studio shuts down, it doesnt matter to them. They went out with a hateful pathetic bang, and that all they ever wanted.

EDIT: -The game artists are from the original trilogy. P.S. I am sorry about your friend I wish I could do something nice for you.

I am of the same mind. Mary DeMarle was a great hire, as well as Michael Tucker who made a YT vid on how Mass Effect could be the next Game of Thrones if adapted to TV; video however has been taken down I believe. Mike Gamble has been there since the beginning and knows ME's highs and lows... so I am cautiously optimistic.

Your point about young people not meeting up much these days is very true. That's one of the reasons I've lost touch with so many of my friends over the years. I don't really like going out for drinks or clubbing, and it feels like that's the only way most young people want to hang out, outside of work.

Because on launch the game looks good, gets good reviews, good player reviews. When you patch it later, it won't get "traditional" gaming media coverage and you can't refund it. Will it damage the company and franchise reputation in the long run? Absolutely. Do they care? No, it makes money now, who cares about the company 2 years from now? Just sell it to Microsoft, Sony or Tencent

To lock in the sale to keep the increasingly upset and nervous shareholders happy but accomplish the true task of normalizing and perpetuating their ideology. It's actually fairly straight forward. Politics is downstream from culture. This is how they capture the culture.

Look at Indiana Jones, thats a Horrifically boring product that is barely even a game but they managed to keep it somewhat clean of "that stuff". And you find ppl saying its GOTY just because it is not immediately repugnant, thats how deep the bar has fallen, that you just need something that functions and doesn't preach at you and that's enough for some to put it on a pedestal. I didn't mind "woke" content in media, ever. What I don't like are dynamics like this one: Manager- "Welcome all to this debrief about your characters and story in our new media. Let's begin. You first. You are the "nerdy" guy, awkward socially and inept in real life but a genius with tech" Actor- "Sure boss" M- "You instead are the extrovert, loud and proud youngster boasting confidence to hide his real insecurity and doubt about yourself and your abilities" A- "Ok boss, I'll work on that" M- "You take the role of the "mother goose" of the group: for what one can see from outside you're more interested about positive dynamics in the group over your own social status. Could be you had a difficult childhood to cope with? We'll see if your character is well recieved for expanding on it, keep this in mind" A- "Sure boss, let me deal with this" M- "Good. You instead have a big role to cover: you'll be the leader of the group, projected on the outside, the one who knows perks and flaws of people, the one that can glue all the other quirks togheter and have more than the sum from it, and the one that use intelligence instead of prevarication. Can you manage it?" A- "It's a big role, thanks, I'll try to insert some flaws to make it interesting. What about a past failing so disastrous that is still taking a toll on his sanity?" M- "Do at your will. Now you. You are gay" A- ".... and?" M- "And what" A- "I'm gay, ok, whatever, but what's my role?" M- "What are you talking about? Your role is... gay!" A- "... "gay" isn't an archetype for characters" M- "Yes it is, haven't you heard modern audience and all that identity stuff? It's named "identity" because it defines you. Remember to bring this up whenever you can, even if it's not pertinent, and be obnoxious with those pesky people trying to bring you down with theyr homophoby: it's important people knows we are allies. Bonus point if they are in the crew. Now, to work people!" A- "... ..."

While I agree with this in principle the problem is that it's not happening to just one company. This is an industry wide problem, if it was just one company no one would give a shit we would just do what your are advocating. The real problem is the infestation of games across ALL companies in this sphere. There are so many loved franchises that have been destroyed. Move to indie? Sure, but I also need to rage and lament about what we have lost as well.

One of these some time ago tweeted something like, "We don't want your money, go spend it on something else." As unfortunate as that is, that's the honesty I appreciate. I am eager to do so. There are only three possible outcomes, and either of them is nothing to be worried about: 1. they remain profitable enough to continue. Then you're just not part of the target audience and you just carry on. 2. they don't remain profitable and adjust their business to cater to you. This is fine then, so you can have it. 3. they don't remain profitable and the thing disappears. You can then feel Schadenfreude if you want, and/or hope that the void is filled with something new you are the target audience of. When masks were mandatory on public transport here, and I couldn't wear one for a long time because of a PTSD originating from me nearly suffocating by being poisoned by industrial exhaust fumes during the GDR, having to be brought back to life in intensive care, when I told our German railroad company about that - a company that is trying to be OH SO inclusive - they answered with a mail written by a bot cancelling my subscription for getting 50% off all tickets. Of course, following that, I had spent exactly 0€ on train tickets. I bought a recumbent bike, trained and am now able to cycle for 150 km straight, and I lost 15kg of weight in that process. So I take this the way you do in all your videos. Of course I am NOT returning to public transport now, as it has become so unreliable that I say, we basically have no railways in Germany any more. During that time I have discovered so many fun things to do. I can pack a tent on my bike, even attach a trailer and carry a rubber boat, wetsuit and snorkelling gear and don't need to travel far for a good time. Regarding gaming, there is a lot from the 8, 16 and 32 bit eras that has aged well. I am planning to start a homelab as I enjoy tinkering with Kubernetes, AI and stuff. I don't need to eat out at fancy restaurants, some of which followed the same narrative during aforementioned times, and telling me they wouldn't need my money, my flat has a nice large terrace and my neighbours don't mind me BBQ'ing nearly every week during Summer, and there is plenty of street food I can get on my bike trips. I feel sorry for your friends, I had one equally very close friend who had bad kidneys which destroyed his body from the inside. I am so grateful that, when I left university and finally got a good job I am still in by today, he had at least been able to visit me for a few days at my then new home and we were at least able to eat out two times and visit the beach. He was so weak by that time that even a week later I couldn't reach him on the phone any more and only half a year later when I visited my old home town and talked to other people who knew him I got to know that he had passed away only a few days after he had visited me. I owe him so much for becoming who I am today. He had run a computer club in the 1990s where in the Eastern part of Germany, being a computer nerd was something everybody wanted to avoid and you were basically an outlaw if you were interested in that kind of stuff. He got me interested in other things not that closely tied to the computer like video editing where the computer was mainly used for effects and titles, and volunteering to do fun stuff for children like crafting in the holidays. I share your opinion to not be mean to anyone, just defend yourself if you are attacked and after that, go away. If everybody is consequent in that way, things will naturally sort themselves out.
