There was a review done in 2022 IIRC and it found that many of the FISA applications lacked the proper documentation and veracity. IOW, the FISA judges rubber stamp many of the applications. The whole system is rotten from the top down

They came up with two concurrent congressional committees and an independent council? The independent council saying he couldn't find something but congress could make something up was a real kick in the pants. Funny thing about that. When trump sued Clinton claiming what she said about him and the Russian connection was false he lost, wound up having to pay her for the cost of the lawsuit. Then trump went after the man that found the evidence and generated the dossier, trump again lost in court because trump couldn't prove it was false. Trump was under investigation by the FBI way back into the early 2000s because of his business dealings with known Russian money launders. Part of his fraud conviction is based on the fact that trump couldn't prove if he really owned the buildings he was borrowing against and that information came from the early FBI looking into the money laundering.
