sorry for such a long intro!! batman gets me so excited, i could talk about it forever! i hope you all like the reaction! if you wanna see the reaction, it starts at 5:00 gentle reminder that these videos are edited the way they are because of copyright! we can only show up to 5ish seconds of a clip at a time! otherwise, there would be no movie reactions on youtube at all for you to watch! my editor emphasizes my reaction to the movie because that is the point of a reaction/commentary video! the only way to watch the full movie without some random on the internet like myself commenting on it is to watch it on your own or surrounded by friends and family!

DC also has really good animated movies and there are many Batman ones that are so good. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Batman: Under The Red Hood Batman: The Killing Joke Batman: The Dark Knight Return (1 & 2) Batman: Hush Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (I'd put this aside probably.. the Batman Beyond series follows a new Batman because Bruce is too old to continue - the show is great though) These are some of my favorites. Dark Knight Returns and Under The Red Hood are my all time favs.

The thing about Nolan's Batman movies which i think is what sets it apart from every other comic book movie is its basically a what if Batman existed in our world, so no super powered people exist, its just him vs real life villains. As im sure a lot of comments have already mentioned but its worth saying again that the Batman: The Animated Series is a must watch for any fan or would be fan, its also the same voices from the games you played.

Fun story about Michael Caine: He was friends with composer John Barry, who among many other things is notable for writing the musical scores for all the James Bond movies from Dr. No to The Living Daylights. Michael was in between leases at one point, and stayed at John's flat for six weeks. One night, Michael couldn't get any sleep because John was downstairs working on his piano. He finally went downstairs in the morning and was going to complain, but John said "I've got this tune for the Bond film. What do you think of it?" It turned out to be "Goldfinger", probably the most famous Bond song/theme next to the 007 theme itself, and Michael Caine was the first person in the world to hear it.

Nice story, though Monty Norman composed the 007 theme. John Barry was a fabulous composer though, and is just about in that class alongside Bernard Herrmann; Zimmer is fine but not anywhere near that level.
@hammerman199374
@hammerman199374 2 ай бұрын
@@shugaroony If you read carefully, you'll note I never said John Barry composed the 007 theme, I only said the Goldfinger song is almost as famous as it. Although, while Norman is in fact credited for its composition, Barry is responsible for the arrangement as we know it. In fact, Barry filed and lost a claim that he was its composer, so there is some dispute over it. I did make one error, however: While Barry arranged the theme for Dr. No, Norman is credited with Dr. No's film score. Barry took over for From Russia With Love. As far as Barry's placement in his status among film composers, that is subjective to the individual's musical taste depending upon how you look at it. To make it more objective, I was thinking mostly of their impact in the film industry. John Barry and John Williams have an equal amount of Oscars for film scores: 5. Yet they are both beat by Alfred Newman with 9 and Alan Menken with 8. Yet I will concede that's not the best measurement, since hardly anyone would cite Newman as their "favorite" and I doubt most people have even heard of Menken. Williams, however, takes the top in nominations with an astounding 50. In terms of musical taste, Barry is actually not my favorite. He's good, but I agree he's more on a Zimmer level (maybe a little below) with Williams and Horner at the top and Goldsmith somewhere in between along with Danny Elfman.

It's very different from the original lore of Batman but it's good. Like Nolan changed the name of the League of Assassins and the pronunciation of the name of its founder. Like the real Ras is already dead for centuries but in this reality there isn't supernatural elements. Bruce in this movie is fighting against a successor of Ras, not the real one. His name "is merely Ducard".

Fun Fact: this film was the first time Batman ever "flew" or glided with his cape. Before that he was just a really good gymnast with wires. Considering Batman has been around since 1939. Its insane that Nolan was the first to come up with the idea of incorporating his cape into his suit to fly. The next seperate adaption to follow up with it, after this film, was the Arkham games and its been a staple for Batman ever since.

I agree. I prefer DC heroes and villains, but though the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman are uncorruptable and godlike; they are unreachable to us. Bruce Wayne is - to an extent - one of us; yes he has touches of psychopathy and is murkier than the others, but that is human, and he tries to be the best human possible physically and mentally, in order to clean up Gotham. He represents what we can become if we all tried to attain our potential.

Back in the 2000s, they truly did know how to do reboots. Batman Begins and Casino Royale are the prime examples of how to bring something back in a new continuity and with a nice pitch that fits the franchise. Nolan wanted to do a more grounded take and focus more on Bruce as a character, as opposed to just always being on Batman. I remember seeing the trailer for this when going to see Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith in theaters and feeling so hyped that they were making another one. And once I got my chance to see this movie in theaters next, my 11-year-old mind was blown away. Then, in three years later, I witnessed the sequel with my father, which instantly became my 2nd favorite film of all time.

You really nailed it with your "This feels like it really could happen" comment. Nolan's Batman trilogy was primarily focused on making a Batman that could happen in the real world, if someone had enough money and physical endurance and access to technology to *become* Batman. There are no super powers in the entire trilogy, so don't expect Clayface or Poison Ivy.

You have to watch the Prestige. Hugh Jackman and Michael Caine again, plus David Bowie as Nikola Tesla, who is a major character. You have to watch Memento too. It’s about a guy who can’t form new memories chasing the man who killed his wife. It goes backwards, so you start each scene with as much info as him, which is none. And the denouement at the end is chronologically the first thing that happens. It’s amazing.

This dark, gritty rendition of Batman that has been prevalent for decades started at the 80s, when it was released in 1986 a comics miniseries called The Dark Knight Returns, written and drawn by Frank Miller. This story alone kinda revived the interest on the character. And if you want a completely different rendition of Batman to understand the directions the character was taken in the years before, I highly recommend watching some episodes of the 1960s Batman TV show. It's hilarious, I think you gonna like it.

So the thing about Rachel is one of the few parts of this movie that genuinely annoys me... because originally, she was meant to be Harvey Dent. Harvey and Bruce would've been childhood friends, Harvey would've met with Bruce after his parents died and he was planning on killing Joe himself, and Harvey would've been the one to motivate Bruce to seek a more noble, law-abiding path instead. Which 100% tracks with Harvey's character as the staunch legal-eagle of the most crime-ridden city in the world, not only that but he would've played a formidable part in forging the identity of 'Batman' as a concept in Bruce's mind. Unfortunately the studio wasn't happy with the script and basically demanded they add a love-interest to it, it was too late to write in Catwoman / Talia / anyone else, so they just took all of Harvey's scenes and lines and gave them to 'Rachel Dawes', a new character who is basically just Harvey Dent but female.

The fact that Nolan tied Rachel into his story without too many problems is a testament to his writing. All that was needed to make it better was a better actress which Maggie Gyllenhaal did in the sequel.

Both times a love interest was created especially for the films they failed. Batman Forever's Chase Meridian was a psychologist who fancied Batman and that was all there was to her character. And in this Rachel dumps Bruce for being different to how he was 7 years ago.

This This is the movie that made me obsessed with Batman as a kid. I saw this in theaters and just fell in love. I saw a little bit of the animated series as a kid, I wasn't what you'd call a massive fan at the time. I was more into Toy Story and Power Rangers and Wrestling at that time. But, I came around, and when Batman Begins came out, I wanted to be the Batman. All I wanted was Batman toys, movies, games, everything. I had so many toys just based on Batman Begins alone that I wish I still had to this day. Then, shortly after watching Batman Begins, I had a video game on Batman Begins for Nintendo GameCube. I loved the game as a kid. Then I got my first Xbox 360 and discovered Batman Arkham Asylum. But, it was a demo. I played that demo over and over and over and over and over again. So, since 2005, I've been a gigantic Batman fan and absolutely love almost everything Batman related... almost. Some things I'm not too fond of. Batman Begins to this day, I believe, is still my favorite Batman film,simply due to nostalgia and simply because it's got a special place in my heart for it being the first Batman movie I saw I'm theaters but also because that's what drove me towards the character. People definitely argue and say Batman The Dark Knight is better. I choose not to argue because it's such an amazing film that I simply can't. I think you'll really like it. It's definitely my personal favorite interpretation of the Joker, live action anyways because the Arkham series/animated series will always be the best in my opinion but for live action films, nothing beats Heath Ledger's version of the Joker. This is my first time watching a video on this channel. However, a friend recommended this channel to me, so I've heard of it before. This video popped up in my feed, and I saw Batman Begins, so there was a 100% chance of me clicking on this. If you read this comment and made it this far, I hope you're happy. I hope you're doing well. I hope you're healthy and I hope the same to all of your friends and families. You're all precious, and you all matter. I just felt that I needed to say that, so to whoever reads this, I hope you appreciate it.❤

18:27: "And there's THREE Nolan Batman movies? I get MORE of this?!?" And they keep getting better. That'll really bake your noodle. 37:39: It's funny, when my folks and I watched this, we're all kind of car nuts, and my dad was talking about how Bruce had a special model of that type of car that had a third set between the traditional driver and passenger seat, and my mom and I backed it up and showed him, no, one of the ladies is sitting in the lap of the other. Also, yeah, part of what I love about this series is the idea that Bruce Wayne deliberately plays up the "Rich Idiot With No Day Job" persona so that no one would guess THAT GUY is Batman. Like Clark Kent plays up his nerdy awkwardness so, if anyone notices he looks like Superman, they brush it off because there's no way dorky, awkward, nerdy Clark Kent could POSSIBLY be Superman. If you dig into the interviews and such, there's a lot of talk that the films run with the idea that "Bruce Wayne" is the disguise, and Batman is the real person, and indeed Rachel says as much at the end of this film. But actually watching the movies doesn't really bear that out. Watch Batman in his costume, with the Bat-Growl and barely-restrained rage that seems constantly on the verge of boiling over into berserk frenzy, and you can see that it's just as much an act as clueless, careless idiot "Bruce Wayne." The *real* Bruce, calm, intelligent, dryly witty, is really only seen by Alfred, Lucius, and the audience when he interacts with those two. 58:20: There's a redesigned Batsuit in the next two films, which looks not quite as good, but offers more flexibility, specifically because this type of suit is so hard to move in. Nolan talks about trying to come up with a story reason for redesigning the suit, then deciding that the story reason and the real reason were identical: Batman can't move as much as needs to, can't turn his head, needs to be more flexible. When Bruce comes to Fox with the ideas, Fox actually says "You'd like to be able to turn your head?"

Glad you loved it. Hard to believe this movie is almost 20 years old. The time it came out made it even more impressive because it followed a very campy and absurd Batman and Robin from the 90s which is still considered one of the worst Batman movies. Nolan's Batman was (and maybe still is) the most earnest, sincere, and intelligent take on Batman in film. Something that hadn't been seen at that point. It was also before the MCU and golden age of superhero movies.

This is obviously a great collection of movies with an incredible cast. I’m 64 years old so my initial impression of Batman was from the campy tongue-in-cheek version of Batman. They then made a movie version in 1966 with the same actors with the same format. I was 6 years old. I laughed when Batman was up in the air over water, and a shark jumped up and got a hold of his leg. This led Robin to go get the bat shark repellent. You would get a good laugh out of these characters.

Most people pronounce it wrong - including some of the current comic writers. It's actually pronounced "Rahss All-Ghul" (with the "gh" having a slight flutter sound like a gargle), and it's Arabic for The Ghoul's Head, or literally translated "head of the ghoul" (Google English to Arabic and type that in for confirmation). It's not the only Arabic name in the Batman books, and it was nice to hear Liam Neeson pronounce it correctly.
