Tamacia Ellis .....i totally agree with you. And to Aziz' defense, I can say he's INNOCENT ! First of all, you leave the restaurant to go to his place...that's an agreement since we are having a good time, let's go to my place...(mutual feelings). You re drinking wine and kissing while you are seated on counter top....( you don't need a genius to figure this out). Let's put anatomy into perspective here, 99.7% of human beings are sexually aroused by kissing..period. Now when he attempted, she said no and he stopped! So I'm perplexed by her #meToo outcry!! I'm pissed because I have a son and when this shit gets out of hand, any teenager or young miss can scream out "MeToo" because she didn't get her way in the life of a young man on an upward direction of Life. So they need to draw a fat line in this movement. #bitchgotmepissed!!

There has to be a balance in all things. If a man decides to force himself on a person and rape them that person should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law Providing PROOF. Too many mens entire lives have been destroyed due to vindictive women who have lied. Also in this case this woman claims incident after incident and then tries to say her non verbal signs should have been picked up on. This is the reason that many get side eyed when legitimately speak out about the abuse. If we want to be taken seriously then the law should be followed by ALL. The man who rapes with proof should be convicted. The woman who brings unsubstantiated claims or out and out lies should do the same amount of time. Period to maliciously falsely accuse someone and destroy that persons reputation and lively hood or the mental and physical burden of being raped. They both are equally damaging to the individual. This woman is suspect as hell. You see the signs and continue in the situation I can't even.

Aziz Ansari doesn't belong in the same category as these other men.
@lilbaby2457 жыл бұрын
According to Aziz, when he texted her the next day saying he had a good time, she tells him she didn't after she further thought it over. This story is paralleling Dineva's college story. This heffa felt "dirty" after sucking dick and getting ate out on the first date. That's not his fault. He didn't make her feel that way. She made up in her mind that she would be nothing more than some ass to him and thought she shouldn't have done the do. Especially if she was seeking a serious relationship with him. Or his head could have been bad. But either way, there was no coercion or abuse of power there. Just some buyer's remorse.

The women who choose to lie about such experiences are trash and make it harder for assualt survivors to come forward because they don't want to be shamed. Now I'm not ever one to victim blame and I have experienced sexual harassment as well... but we're setting a dangerous precedent in how we view these instances on a spectrum. There is a difference in feeling that a sexual encounter was not satisfying or one that you regret after the fact. Do I think there were some cues that she put out? Yes.... but how subtle or how overt those cues are, are up for debate. Ultimately, when you're not feeling comfortable... you have an obligation and duty to yourself to say something that leaves no room for doubt. We can't expect anybody to read minds and then be upset later. Fuck being polite, if you don't like it, say something

As with any "movement", #MeToo has gone too far. This protest was supposed to be about men in authority abusing their power to pressure women into sexual situations, and has now devolved into a one night stand going home disappointed after bad sex. Gone are the days of personal responsibility and discernment. It's amazing how some weak people know how to talk themselves into a sexual situation but don't know how to talk their way out of it. The same way she opened her mouth to let the dick in, is the same way she should have opened her mouth to let the words out. If she changed her mind and didn't want to continue, she has every right to do that, but she has to say it. Ruining an innocent man's reputation because you were to weak to say you changed your mind is not what the # MeToo is supposed to be about. I didn't grow up around weak women. All of the women I grew up around have no problem voicing their opinions and they are as baffled by this story as I am. Non-verbal cue? 🤔

When you go out with a man, you have to act like a lady. You don't go back to his house on the first date unless you know something is going down. How about we do away with non-verbal cues all together? If you don't want to have sex...If you don't want to feel like you are coerced into having sex. Then say NO! Yea but if you’re intentions are different than his and you’re at his house then you should leave. It’s not her fault HE decided to be aggressive but it is if she decides to stay. I mean we have to stop blaming men for wanting sex. If we don’t want it we can leave and never look back. Until he physically restrains you then the choice is tours. Just bc you’re afraid to leave doesn’t mean he’s at fault. It means grow a pair and stop being so scared. Simple.

@@Life4all41 Wrong. No dude should ever make a girl feel afraid in a sexual--or any--situation. You talk like a dude can't control his dick or himself once he's aroused. A decent man backs off and asks a girl if she's ok if there's any question that she's not totally into it. And then he respects her decision, either way. This idea that men just blindly fuck away and women have to protect themselves from it and that's completely normal is bullshit.

As a woman I am very torn with believing all these ladies... it may have happened to some but I believe some are jumping on a bandwagon.. It would be different if she pulled away and he kept kissing her and pulling away would be a non verbal communication.. I pray the bandwagons don’t make a mockery of a much needed movement and kp real victims silent.

Violet Sun You and your husband are correct- society must stop babying men. But society must also hold women accountable for our actions. You don't want a man to treat your daughter the way Aziz treated his date, as you shouldn't. But I'm sure you will also teach your daughter not to put herself in certain situations so there is no confusion. If your daughter goes on a first date with a stranger and decides to go back to his home, you know that your daughter's actions will signal to her date that she's interested in moving forward with the evening. That's why you'll probably teach your daughter not to behave this woman behaved.

That said, we don't want to lump them all together because there is grey area and you will have people taking advantage of that. As a woman, I am in NO way victim blaming or shaming. However, with that being said, Aziz isn’t a man who held a power dynamic over this woman. It’s not like Weinstein or Cosby, where the woman felt compelled or forced because the man could “make them or break them” so to school. Those men have endless supply of money, influence, power, control, and resources and could ruin a woman’s life or career in a hot second. This is different. A man u just met a few hours ago for the first time isn’t inviting u back to his house to play cards or debate politics and current events.

We don’t know the history of these alleged victims. Also, Dineva don’t assume that women have been talked to about sex and dates because we all didn’t growing up. As a woman that has been sexually assaulted throughout my life beginning at the age of 4, there is not manuscript of how you will react when/if it happens again. The last time I was sexually assaulted I was 21 and I just froze because I went back to being a defenseless child being assaulted. I was finally able to stop him but it took a moment for me to get there. Why? I couldn’t believe it was happening and I didn’t know what to do because I was scared and alone with my aunt’s husband. I digress...

at about the 8:30 mark, you nailed it. Ol' girl was down for some first date sex and if Aziz had said, "i love you", she would have f*cked him twice. But he was treating her WAAAAAAAY too casually and that hurt her feelings. As you stated, her having hurt feelings is valid, but that doesn't mean that Mr. Ansari did anything illegal. You could call him a cad, but a "predator"? that's going way too far.

*This is so true. Some women do lie/exaggerate. I once went into a store with my cousin's ex girl/baby mother. He was waiting in the car for us. When we got into the car, she told him how a couple of guys was bothering her and trying to holla at her and such. I was shocked and didn't know what to say, cause I knew she was lying. He was cursing and getting mad and was about to go into the store to give them a piece of his mind. My cousin has a temper and many gang connections. She was telling him don't do it, let it go and that she was okay. Bitch is twisted. It turned her on to see him get riled up over her. When my cousin dropped her off at her house, I straight up told him SHE LYING. THOSE DUDES AIN'T SAY SHIT TO HER. He looked dumbfounded.*

I think part of the problem is that we have a long history of sexual interaction between men and women. Men are supposed to be the aggressors and a women simply receive. To this day that code still exists and many abide by it unwillingly. A woman wants to be the aggressor but feels she can’t. She may also still want sex to mean that she’s loved. After the deed, there’s that internal emotional conflict because the sex didn’t happen how she imagined it. That’s not all cases, but it’s more than none. Another thing, we need to be able to openly speak about sexual expectations. Men need to be able to flat out say, “can we fuck?” instead of “would you like to come over and watch a movie?”. Transparency would help out with those situations where signals got crossed because men are from Mars and women are from Venus. Either we need to learn the language of the other planet or have one common language so that all parties are on the same page from the onset that sex is expected or not.

A conversation, a real one that is, needs to be had on the definition of rape. Rape is not a joke. It is a real crime that does not require a delayed response. There is no guessing whether a person has been raped or not.
@Pattiannsplace7 жыл бұрын
I think that I am qualified to comment on this issue. I am a rape survivor, sexual victim many times over. When you grow up fat, sometimes people take advantage. I give talks about the very subject. While we have to be careful with victim blaming, the victims need to be very clear about their accusations. For instance, if someone says something to you, that is sexual in nature, your first response does not have to be to call TMZ when all you had to do was tell the offender to Step Off. Also, every uncomfortable situation that you might find yourself in, is not sexual abuse-it may just be immoral, ignorant, or inappropriate. I was sexually abused as a child-I was powerless. As an adult, I was raped. I am a survivor, and I have no time for innocent people being made to be monsters, on the strength of an accusation being made by a woman. Wrong is wrong, and it's wrong to disrupt people's lives like this.
@audrey82757 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's fair to assume that she had some "fairy tale" scenario of how things were going to play out in her mind- we don't know what she was thinking and I don't think there's enough information to make that conclusion. However I do agree this wasn't sexual assault. She had to have known what was going to happen when they got back to his apartment. He rushed them out of the restaurant and to his place and it just seems like common sense would tell you "he's gonna try to sleep with me when we get there." If she didn't want that to happen, she could've said "hey the date was great it was nice seeing you again, but I think i'm gonna head home for the night. Let me know if you wanna do this again." But she didn't. I think she knew what was going to happen and maybe even wanted it, but changed her mind later once things got heated for whatever reason- and that's possible and ok. But she should've left after that because it was clear that sex was what he brought her home for, not to just watch Seinfeld on the couch. I think this was a case of just regretting a sexual experience that didn't sit right with you after it was over, which happens sometimes, but it's not fair to look back on it and say it was sexual assault now that you think about it. And it's definitely not fair to add this to the #MeToo movement which is supposed to be about men abusing their power to make you submit to them. Aziz had nothing to hold over her, they ran in completely separate circles and he never threatened her career. I think what pissed me off most was her saying she decided to speak out after seeing him at the Golden Globes. It just made her seem bitter about him winning an award. It's like being bitter about an ex having moved on and being happy when you're still moping about it. Aziz isn't totally innocent but this doesn't belong in the movement which sadly isn't being taken as seriously anymore bc of this. Sorry for the essay :/

No and yes; Dineva nailed it for the most part. Yes bc youre talking about white women in America. And they can be very indecisive and like to flirt. No bc most women know you don't go to his house tounge kiss legs spread and think you've sent cues that say no sex. Its like warming up a plate of food, putting it in front a hungry person after asking them if they want it. And when they stick in their fork say, That's mine! Flirting involves non verbal cues, but if you're rejecting a man you must be crystal clear and speak up. Subtlety is not to be used when No Thank you is your message.

I'm so sick of this too bc people that are really victims of rape and sexual assault is being overshadowed first if I go out on Date 1 and after dinner why would I go back to his hotel or apartment? If I go back to your apt it is often implied that we will engage in some type of sexual encounter. It is no different if a man call me and ask me to come to his place at 11:00 pm talking about we just want to talk If that is not my attention either we remain in an open space or I take my ass home simple put. Yes I have the right to change my mind and a man should respect that which he did Often times as women we have sexual remorse and we start feeling guilty because we want a relationship or treated with respect but having sex on the first date often times don't suggest it and we start rethinking how it looks. For Hollywood hoes plenty of them chicks made Millions of money and most of them were at the top of their careers and now that they are no longer relevant bc younger prettier women have now entered the workplace you want to speak out. Why didn't you turned down those million dollar roles and speak out

While I agree that this Aziz story is bullshit, I have to say you grossly undermined rape culture. And I do think there is room for accurate criticism of the “metoo movement” while still expressing for the radical change in how men should treat women’s bodies. For example, I wholeheartedly agree in if we are going to widely publicize the accusations, then we should then follow the story through its completion (but I think that has more so to do with the way our society consumes media). At the same time, (not only in Hollywood) men have allowed their power (as obtained by inequities because of perceptions about women being “fragile”) to abuse women and this very same power dynamic helps them get off.

What happens a lot of times is that people think more highly of others than they do of themselves. The only person in that situation who had deep feelings for her was HER. She somehow expected him to treat her with more respect than she was giving to herself. In the end when she realized she would have been just another girl to him (not some very special one of a kind lady) she was angry.....mostly with her self. Some people prefer to say they were a victim rather than say that what THEY did was stupid,wrong, unwise etc. Like Dineva said most people know how use a stereotype to their advantage and that's what she did. She became the damsel that was taken advantage of when the truth is she disrespected herself....he hadn't known her long enough to invest that much emotion into her well being......That was HER responsibility!

I had a man tell me that he was told by a woman that a woman can have sex with a man even though she doesn't really want to in her hearts of hearts. Even if the woman doesn't tell him or say no, it is rape because she didn't want to do it deep in her soul. He should have "known" what she was feeling in her soul. Wtf?! If you don't say no, stop, I don't want to do this, how the hell is he suppose to know? A night of regret sex does not equate to rape. This is the reason why people jumping on the Me Too movement is dangerous to the real discussion about sexual assault/rape. People don't understand that that man will be labeled for life as a rapist over your one night of regret or because you thought this man would love you after sex when women they clearly tell us that it's just sex. That part is not right. Keep the place of sexual assault/rape to the real assailants.

@Funkydineva your reaching at this point. Some people may lie but that does not undermine the true accounts. I’m sorry girl BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT BEING A WOMAN! Men have to be told no a TRILLION times to stop. As a young impressionable teen who grew up in a Christian household I was DUMB enough to believe I could be alone with guys after saying I was a virgin or not trying to have sex. I learned the hard way.To this day there has never been one time I was alone with a man who did not hint, beg or continuously try me. Now I choose wisely. In the mean time and in between time we shouldn’t have to live knowing we’re prey and men are accepted praised predators. Now idk about that situation but don’t say it’s just how men are because that’s atrocious and always has been.
@Life4all417 жыл бұрын
If you said NO and they continued to bother you that’s a problem. If you made a choice to go be with a man alone and talk about sex and he pursued you and you didn’t stop him that’s your problem. It’s ok for men to ask for sex when they’re alone with you. Just like it’s ok for you to go on a date and NOT pull out your own money. It’s ok but you have a choice until they physically take it away form you. Leave. Don’t be alone with them. If you are then make your intentions clear. It’s so simple to do it really is. And don’t be sexual. Some women will dance a grind on a guy then get upset when they wanna go further like WHY even do that. Then okay victim. Stop it.
@doc_ofalltrades24447 жыл бұрын
Are you saying never hang alone with men EVER lol ok. I’m taking it further than physical. Their is a culture in which men feel entitled to sex and think EVERY interaction with a woman is a chance to score. It’s not just how they are... it is a social construct and it can be eliminated. I’m not ok with it and never have been. This is the root of #metoo. If I told you I don’t want to have sex why do I have to plan for you to try. low key isn’t this harassment. Either way it’s not just about what’s a crime. Maybe I don’t want to be coerced either. We have a hypersexualized society point blank. Maybe you ENJOY sex as a foundation of your interaction and life but I do not! Many girls especially young girls DO NOT understand such concepts that are so “obvious” Leaving is not always so black and white either. Why should we continue to just to conform to men as pigs and say hey this is how they are. It seems to me women have to carry all the weight in the sexual realm. Men can be free no restraint, but women must always be avoiding or responding to something. That’s called sexual oppression in my opinion. Also every woman doesn’t encounter some sassy lady that knows the game. That’s dumb to assume. Some people get raped or harassed first THEN pick up on said game.

You left out some details. While I don't agree with how the woman handled the situation, to say that Aziz did nothing wrong is bs. We are all grown and we can all pick up on when somebody isn't feeling us or when the sexual chemistry is off. I'm thinking that's what she meant by "non-verbal" cues. She might have felt pressured into performing those other sexual acts and yes, she probably should have attempted to leave. There are many women out there who have done things out of fear of how the man may react to rejecting his advances, and it's possible that she felt intimidated in some way. Both parties could have handled this better.

The truth is you can’t expect someone to read your mind. It’s like with anything thing. I see women talk OPENLY about men as they walk by with prints and say how fine they are and women brag about giving oral to there sleeping partner bc they think that’s what he’ll like to wake up to but how do we know they like it?
