Shingles can be very nasty. So happy to know that you are much better. They recommend the shingles vaccine (Shingrix) at age 50 and it's a two shot deal. I don't believe you are anywhere near that age, but your doctor might recommend it especially if your immune system is weakened. Also, there's a small window of time when shingles first appears that you should take acyclovir which will prevent it from getting worse. I just love the beauty of nature that you share with us. Looking forward to your van renovation!!

@@ketoauntie7301 shingles is herpes zoster. Idk that monkeypox is a herpetic virus. Taken early valcyclovir will help it to heal faster. You should also be on L-Lysine 1,000 MG a day for 6 months. 'Health experts'? Who would that be? Big pharma? You're not serious. I wouldn't take any vax. If you've had shingles you can't get the vax if you wanted to. Also, the sun will be a trigger for you to have a recurrence so always wear a hat in the sun.

Amanda, I sooooo love you, and Frank, of course. The changes sound very exciting. Thanks, too, for sharing about the spot on your nose. I have been concerned but didn't want to ask. I'm glad it was "only" shingles. I know it's painful, but at least it does go away... unlike cancer (which was my fear).
@jackieskaggs17672 жыл бұрын
I also was concerned about the place on your nose. Seems I remember you having it before. My daughter had a place that kept coming back as a sore and then one day it got scraped and wouldn't heal. We took her to a dr and she had melanoma cancer. It was quite an ordeal. She was only 17 and I was a single mother. Melanoma is a big deal because it can spread to different parts of our body like brain,lungs, liver ect. That's been 30 years ago and she is fine. Just telling you in case shingles was not diagnosed by a dr you should have it check. The sooner it is caught the better the outcome.

Regarding your souvenirs on the wall, I have a suggestion. I am also very sentimental and get attached to things. I need them to hold the memories for me. One thing you can do it attach them to something that IS easily moveable (like a large picture frame) that can go from van to van (or your house in the future) I traveled a lot when young and to save money decided to just purchase a patch as a souvenie from all the places I'd been (instead of t-shirts, mugs, or a bunch of junk trinkets). Patches are awesome because they are so small and yet beautiful and sturdy and inexpensive and they are a great visual representation of the place you visited. So I am not in the process of looking for a blanket to sew them all into that I can continuously add the patches as I acquire them to the blanket. Then I can either hang the blanket like a piece of art of actually use it to keep warm. I haven't decided yet but I know I'll sew them all together on something like that. You could do something similar with your souvenirs.

This video is good for one’s soul. Oh my gosh, the walk with the dogs and mama, gathering mushrooms, I know nothing about wild mushrooms, who knew I would ever be interested in them??? You convey your atmosphere and environment so well, and I relate to your personality in a lot of ways. You exude such a special energy, a truly special human. Sorry you had to deal with Shingles, I had it from mid back, all the way around to under my right breast after a serious illness that literally tried to kill me. Every now and then when we see a commercial for the shingles vaccine, my husband will say “I’m so sorry you went thru that!” And I have to remind him that God truly had me in the palm of his hand. On my last day in the hospital, I mentioned to a nurse that I had a sore spot on my back. She looked and it was a little red, she thought maybe it was a pimple that hadn’t come to the surface, and honestly that’s what the pain felt like, as long as I laid on my left side it didn’t hurt. The illness I had wiped out every vital nutrient, vitamin and mineral, so I was truly as week as a new born baby duck. The day after I got home from my long stay at the hospital, I noticed my back was “sting-y” (I know, it’s not a word) but prickly as if I had touched stinging nettle. My husband had started back to work, he used his vacation time to be at the hospital with me, when he arrived home I asked him to look at my back, and he audibly gasped, and flinched. I had dozens of blisters like the one on your nose. He took me back to the hospital and gratefully they gave me pain medicine and Acyclovir to speed up the recovery. Oh my gosh, I’m sorry this is so long, I should do so Reddit: TL:DR I almost died, broke out in Shingles the day after coming home from ICU and long hospital stay. Pain meds and antiviral helped!

I feel you on the "hoarding" prepping supplies. I finally finished my prepping supplies purchases (except for installing a gutter system on the house to finish my rainwater catchment system - I've already got the 4 large rain barrels - and the large solar generator and more panels which I can't afford right now so that's on hold) and can handle pretty much any situation that comes at me and am now in the process of trying to get it all organized and it's tough. I was obtaining supplies and equipment faster than I could keep up with organizing it and now I'm left with too much to fit in my small home. But I'll figure it out. I'll build some shelves in the closet and utility room and then get rif of some other things I no longer need to make room for it. But yeah, prepping, especially when done in a hurried (even panicked) way ... can overwhelm you. It's been a year and a half with the clutter and this last couple of months I've finally been making headway on getting it organized. But it's incredibly slow going. I just try to stay positive and not stress over it and just keep moving forward. I'm excited to see your van updates!!
