Hey Neeyellow,, I can understand why you made this choice. You want to try other things and skills.. As an artist myself I can get myself caught up in that rut and it can be very frustrating at times. People can really stress you out but I learn to make it more enjoyable and challenging rather then stressful. 😉 I think it's neat to work with animation. Animation can look so simple but it's one thing when you try to do it yourself. You have to have each frame leveled to make the movment of the characters turn out right. It looks challenging but fun. 😅

I relate to you soo much. I wanted to pursue fine arts as a profession too. But my gosh, I'm thankful that I didn't. Instead I chose to be a graphic designer and do paintings as a hobby.

This is a brave step. I see it, like one of my teachers, Glenn Vilppu said: "Copying is not Drawing", you should be brave to try out sth. more "creative" and find your inner voice. People love these photoreal process videos, sure, but it is time to move on and apply this fantastic skill you acquired to sth. that makes you more happy. All the best to you.

It doesn't have to be a total yes or no question on if you draw ever again or don't. You clearly have amazing technical skill and completely giving that up seems sad. I'd suggest experimenting with new mediums or styles. You certainly have realism down, why not try looser forms like impressionism?

I understand. Building on KZbin is hard and drawing hyperrealism takes so much time and cost a lot and then to be flagged when you finally make some money...smh. it's quite a blow. If people are giving you grief over using photo references from photos and magazines. The best way (if you've already thought about it) is to use your own photos. Ask people for photos and take your own. Hindsight is 20/20 I know. Sorry if it doesn't help. Just this man's opinion. Don't stop doing what you love because of someone else's photos being used for educational purposes. Just work around it by using your materials. Thanks!

You should check out zbrush sculpting. It's the most satisfying thing for me other then drawing. You can create all type of different characters using traditional clay skills but in digital. So your drawing skills would translate perfectly

Thank you for your videos 📹 for so many years.. Do what your heart says not your mind.. thats the perk of being an artist. But what i believe is that if you have a particular set of skills then you should not let it die.. try to upload videos with a different series(on same channel) about how to draw eyes, nose and various body parts.. do it occasionally not on regular basis.. don't do portraits just small little things.. so that your drawing skills will also not fade away and we will keep learning something from you.. Artists are their own worst critics ! Never say never ! However, being creative shouldn't mean you're stuck doing the same for the rest of your life, although there are many that have made good careers doing so! It's good you feel like you can apply your skills to other creative projects, and hopefully you'll find something that you enjoy doing rather than feeling you have to do it. Even if you "quit" drawing it will always be there and if you need it again and call to it, it will still be there and will come to you once more. It will never leave you. Creation and creativity is not linear. Sometimes you need to jump around a bit (or a lot) and focus on different things. I have rarely (never) met a creative person who only does one thing. Do what calls to you right now. We need different things at different times and our skills that we develop in one area come in handy and show through in another. Also, learning new skills and mediums is always valuable. It's your channel. Keep your channel. Express yourself! (But....um... don't take your old videos down, PLEEEEASE. 🤣 The ones that people didn't force you to take down anyway. That part is really too bad). I disagree when you say "there is no creativity" in drawing images from the internet. If it's not cutting it for you and you want to be more creative in a different way, then by all means ~ go for it! But, I disagree that drawing images from the internet is not creative. You are still processing the information and altering it in subtle ways. You are reflecting and rechanneling the reality of what you see ~ even if it's "just an image from the internet." Anyway, I have never commented before but I wish you the best. Do what you do and don't be harsh on yourself. You don't need to be. (Easy for me to say. Hahahahaha). And leave the already uploaded drawing videos up for us! (If you want. Pleeeeeeease. Ha. I don't draw images from the internet and my style is completely different from hyperrealism but I couldn't have gotten to where I am if not for your videos. Other videos and things, too, but, yes, creativity of all forms crosses all sorts of boundaries) Keep on going with whatever you want to do, one thing or many, a d it will be great! 😉 (apologies for the most lengthy comment ever. As far as copyright, it is a great way to learn from the massive amount of images and photos On-line, so long as you don’t sell the content, but then again is the finished article exactly the same? My son-in-law gave up his art career because he didn't understand the copyright rules at the time and was nearly sued for copyright infringement...it shattered him completely. He disassembled his art studio and gave his easel, etc to me. I'm very careful about the work I do... much of it is portraiture from photos I've taken or animal/landscape images from appropriate websites. Where in Australia do you live? We're in Brisbane.

end of the day its his decision. the same happened with myself, i was classed as gifted in school and offered conditional places at 2 universities at the age of 15. i painted for a few people and weddings but mainly did it for myself and gradually lost interest. i stopped about 6 or 7 years ago and have never had the urge to paint since. its not a career i ever wanted, it became monotonous as a hobby and working within a timeframe never suited me. im happy with my decision and dont regret it at all, i hope neeyellow finds this happiness too whatever he chooses.
