Thank you so much for this explanatory video and your honesty! I´ve been watching nearly all of your videos since your time in frankfurt, stuttgart, italy, traveling europe with your Ex, beeing on german TV and your return to Waco, Texas and returning to europe and playing football in switzerland. What a great journey and experience for a young guy like you! You´ve seen and experienced so much ups and downs and seen parts of the world and lived lives many of us can only dream about. I really wish you all the best for your future and that your dreams may come true someday! we only have one life here on this planet and we should live it the way we feel/think we get the most and best out of it for ourselves and our soul. You should not "be forced" (by yourself and others) to risk your health and future just to gain a few goals in your 20s or 30s and some fame or medals when there is so much more to experience in a lifetime! we live in a crazy world these days! So many people become rich and famous just by uploading cat videos on youtube, streaming videogames on twitch or posting beautiful travel pictures on instagram without risking anything. You, Silas have chosen "sports" which is a very hard way to "play the game" of success and fame and finally realized that its not the best for yourself, your body, health and personal goals and future and I bow my head for your decision to return to a more "normal" life! Godspeed to you and all the best for your future! I wish you a happy life and may your dreams come true!!! Thanks for the years of entertaining, funny and interesting videos here on youtube! I´ve loved your journey and your videos helped me through some dark periods of my life!

I came across your story when I was preparing to study in Florence, I stopped following as things changed, A few years ago when I was working in Italy I came across friends of yours, one was an American Footballer and one I think went to school with you. I randomly mentioned you and they were like yeah we know Silas. Sorry to hearing that from you, I hoped that you might have a few more seasons left in your body and especially in your soul...especially within the ELF which might give you various further longterm prospective...playing the sport...coaching the sport...managing the sport...marketing the sport...you loved so much, lived for so long, beside all these opsticals ... nevertheless you're the athlete, the player, and you're the one who feels it, who lives it. And finally, who knows if things were changing, again, and you come back in any position within Football. I wish that y'll find your own favorite way. All the best for the future, especially health! Hi Silas, It seems to me that you're all grown up now. Nevertheless, keep the childlike - in the best sense of the word - part of your nature. When I had to say goodbye to football - the "real" football ;-) - , I really missed the camaraderie and the nonsense we had in our heads, but my body couldn't take the sport any more either. It must be the same for you. It will take time, but soon you will be able to enjoy the time without the constant team commitments, especially if you can start a family. Good luck!

I get it and I'm sure your decision is the best one for you! I wish you nothing but the best :) When you said you can't play this game with fear, it reminded me of Damar Hamlin from the Bills. Cardiac arrest on the field in (I think?) January of this year and he was back playing this preseason. I'm a Ravens fan, not a Bills fan, but Hamlin has my utmost respect. I'd never set foot on a Football field again after what he went through. So listen to your body, listen to your mind. If you are at peace with your decision, that's all that matters! :)

No, it is too early! Don't give up and don't go back to USA. Stay here, find anything and anybody. Your passion is HERE, not there. There you are a nobody. Look at NALF, the "it's sooo hot guy". You had such a perfect situation in Germany in that good time. You discovered so much, more than we do here, Landshut and all that towns I never forget. You are just confused by that Kate girl. She was lazy to learn anything, not interested in all that huge diversity. It was disgusting to see her disinterest. You are the opposite! Don't doubt yourself. Make. Make and make. Do anything, but don't go back to USA. Any girl will come, you will meet the right one by itself. Not when you want it, it happens with coincidence. You need a wife which fits to your mind. And you have an excellent mind, you are intellectual, you must go this way and not another.
