You never lose it tho. You just get used to not do it. It starts with the little things, you have to pay attention when that feeling of "I shouldnt do this I would look weird doing it" appears and instead of acting on it, you let it happen, let yourself have your fun.

Honestly I like to think that "being weird" is being original. I was always bullied by my curly hair, listening to nightcore and Alvin&the chipmunks, for liking the socially awkward fat nerds and etc etc... Nowadays people are suddenly liking all of these. "Ohh tik tok music!" (Nightcore), "I want to curl my hair!", " I looove nerds" (they just watched Stranger Things and Harry Potter) and so goes on... I feel mad for them to just change their mind for something popular, but then I remembered I was just original. I'm glad I have my own interests and I'm the reason of a lot of jealousy out there (having a nerd, caring boyfriend and still have my NATURAL beautiful curly hair, both of these gets those bullies with ugly expressions and it's hilarious). It's awesome. I was just original, not weird. Eventually people will get jealous of it because they will realize that you're just yourself and started that one trend that they like

yess, technically if people find what you like doing, is weird. That's them to cope on basically, they dont want that part of you and honestly just dont be with those people, WHOEVER likes you for who you truly are than being a slice of yourself, keep and cherish that friend because they dont mind the true you, and in return they open up to you, to reveal their true self to you. surround yourself or find people who accept what you deem "weird" about yourself, because that is all you, NEVER surround yourself with people who would look down on it, it is hard and yes you might end up trying to change or hide that part about yourself, but please don't do this because it ends up suppressing the true you

I can definitely relate to this. The only time I had friends was in middle school when I pretended to be someone I wasn’t. But once I found my current friends group in high school, I was able to finally be myself and be weird with them and not care. At one point, I kinda just... didn't care. The hard truth is you can't please everyone. Because as soon as you change into what someone else wants, then someone else doesn't like what you've become. You've only got one life. One. That's it. So why be anything else than who you are? I really needed this today... Especially after what happened in 6th grade for me. One of the artists in my class enjoyed bullying me. He is so talented at drawing, very detailed and has mastered the anime artstyle. But he drew caricatures of me on the classroom whiteboard for everyone to indulge. It wasnt compliments, thats for sure. He waa drawing me in the most unfkattering way possible. I cried sheaviky that day and ever since... i have been more reserved around other people. Im now known as "the quiet and chill guy that everyone would be friends with" but thats just because im polite. That day changed me and i HATE him until the day i die

Key thing I'd like to point out for the socially awkward: Be weird, be yourself, but DON'T be obnoxious. Growing up with autism, that took me a little longer to figure out than I would have liked. Don't be afraid to wear your favorite Pokémon hat and FNAF backpack. Don't be afraid to let people know you're a Pokémon and FNAF fan or (if they ask) tell them that the thing you're drawing is your OC. But maybe wait for them to express some interest before you spend the next ten minutes yapping about Pokémon team compositions and FNAF lore. And if you're unsure if they're interested, just be sure to offer them a way out of the conversation. And don't make random loud noises thinking it's funny... "Normal" doesn't even feel real to me, someone elses normal is different from your normal. Keep those "weird" interests and hobbies!! Passionate about ones interests is one of the things i look for in people because of how unique and fun they are. Keep existing how YOU want to exist rather then how you think someone else wants you too. You only live once and your the one living in your body, so learn how to be authentically yourself w/o shame.

i consider myself to be a rather 'strange' person as i stand out quite the bunch around the people that surround me in my daily life, im outgoing and sometimes loud only around those who i know but very shy around strangers and new people, im afraid of interacting with others since i know that they wont be interested in what i like and also know that most people around me wont be the kind of people who would like to interact with someone like me, the only interest that i share with my irl friends is art, and also our similar humor and personality, other than that, i dont feel a deep connection with my irl friends as much as i do with those online. to say, im not a native english-speaker, im a spanish speaker and live in mexico, a completely different enviroment wich explains the main reason im so afraid of interacting with others, that being: almost everyone that is in my school is gonna be reckless, stupid and overall unlikely for me to enjoy being around, wich is already present in my school rn with me absolutely HATING my classmates, specially since i was raised a different way, with my parents actually caring about the things that i did, making sure i was growing to be the right kind of person, and of course, BOOKS. alas ive never been afraid to be weird in public, dont care if they see me screeching or doing weird stuff, the only thing i hate is having to directly talk to others, SPECIFICALLYY if its with the intention of wanting to know 'em better. i consider myself rather brave for not being afraid of showing my weird side, and also because i like telling my classmates its wrong to post photos of yourself in the internet and specially have literal ACCESS to social media like instagram or twitter when theyre still in highschool.

I'm currently spending a year in something called a folkehøyskole which is a Norwegian thing. It's basicly a ACTUALLY fun-focused school for specific interests (hiking, traveling, art, tech projects, for example). I finally got to be more of myself.
