Karen, sincerely, you don't have to do the biggest or the hardest puzzles for it to make a good video. A puzzle that's easy but beautiful or easy and has a good story is equally as entertaining, and tbh it makes me feel better that you're not punishing yourself for the video. Keep doing things like this, it's what will keep you from burning out on puzzling all together.

Ok I know I had that whole dramatic segment at the beginning, but honestly...now that I've taken a break for a week, I'm ready to get back to the hard puzzles. As I type this as the video publishes, I'm about to go open up the holographic puzzle and sit there all day working it out. Don't worry about me...at least until I get back to the Zodiac puzzle. Maybe worry about me a little bit then.

Karen, we love to see you do those really hard puzzles, and those really big ones, because we would find it so time consuming and hard to do, or don’t have the money or space. We still like to see them done though. And you inspire us all to try our hand at them. That said, we also love to see you get so much joy from puzzles, let’s be honest, being able to do some puzzles easily is what makes us all devoted puzzlers. Do what ever kind of puzzle you need to to keep enjoying it, we will love watching you do it. Your videos make my Sunday. 🧩

I’m not a cork expert but I do know that cork is weird and it’s the bark harvested off a cork tree that can only be harvested off of that tree every ~10 years and it has a limited growth range. I had thought there was a shortage but apparently it was a fear of over-harvesting that led to cork trees garnering stronger protections. All these factors led to cork becoming more and more expensive and less likely to be used. I also imagine that because of the reputation of cork trees being endangered many companies switched away from cork to seem more “green”.

The cork trees were threatened in the 90’s, but with improved regulation, they’re rebounding now. Cork is not as expensive now as it had gotten at one point, but nowhere near as cheap as it was in the 70’s and 80’s.

I never do "hard" puzzles. I like to relax and feel accomplished and have a pretty picture at the end. Piece count doesn't determine if a puzzle is "hard" for me. I mostly do 1000 piece Disney puzzles, as they are fun and cute. I'm doing a 2000 piece Botticelli's Birth of Venus puzzle. I don't consider it hard, but its slow going for me because its not my usual wheelhouse.

And thanks to watching you, i have acquired a vintage puzzle myself :) I'm in the UK, so there's not much chance of running into one of those gorgeous vintage Springbok puzzles that you have, the hexagonal or circular ones. I love those! But I did find a puzzle by Arrow Puzzles called Spectrum, which is a 500 piece circular puzzle, and its like a gradient of objects! For example, it seems obvious now, but I had never considered that I'm "allowed" to sort pieces into easier categories right from the start. It's fun to watch someone attempt a thing I would never attempt because of the scale or difficulty. But it's nice to watch people do simpler things competently, too. There is a reason both types of thise channels are popular on youtube. I think you can be both. Sometimes I need a break from watching people break down over doing hard shit. For me, i get like "bruh its just a youtube video, you dont have to do this" and it makes me disengage because im watching a real struggle but for a fake reason, if that makes sense. I bet one of these would make a great birthday present ;) Oh, and I definitely would be the kid hanging from the balcony railing by their knees, and my fiancée would be the girl holding my hand so I don’t fall lol.

I’m the kid on the horse and Jeff chose the kid sitting on the balcony with a balloon hehe I love watching these puzzles come to life the most compared to the harder puzzles. I forgot the code word but I was here at the end. Thank you for a fun video! Be sure to stay hydrated during your hard puzzles haha see you next week 😊

I love the folk art puzzles! I have just recently discovered that Mary Englebreit had puzzles and have added them to my wish list, now I will be adding Jane Wooster Scott to my list. I do enjoy doing Charles Wysocki puzzles. I as well like the artwork of Art Poulin and Bill Bell. There are so many fun puzzles out there! Thank you for the "BIRTHDAY" puzzle, looked like fun! 🥳🥳🥳🧩🧩🧩

Question and possible episode idea: For puzzles with missing and/or damaged pieces, does anyone repair/restore/repalce puzzle pieces so that an incomplete puzzle can be made complete, maybe as a birthday present for a puzzle fan?

That would be such a random, niche thing to do. It also sounds like it would be amazing.

I added the birthday thing just to include the 'secret word', but it would be interesting if we knew how this might be done and if there were somethings that people of differing skill levels could do.

I really enjoy your content, to be honest my favs are when you introduce non-standard ones, like this vintage one, or the super tiny ones, or the holographic ones, or the crossword one, or the one where you could pick out a whole jigsaw puzzle made out of jigsaw puzzles. Those make me sit in awe at the various puzzles i never saw in my life or would have imagined existed out there. And i love the fact that you explain the weaknesses and strengths of each company. I went into a 9000 piece Educa one knowing full well what to expect and enjoyed it thanks to you. And straight up bought two different colour Krypt puzzles knowing they would have the same cut and i can mix and match them more or less. I am not sure what type of content the algorithm overlord and the other viewers enjoy, but i would vote for the easy and fun ones over the hard or timed ones.

i’m the clown with the balloons :^) also i think the “gravestones” might be a bouncy house? i loved this video!! i enjoy watching you solve harder puzzles, but i love learning about different puzzle brands, old puzzles i’ve never head of, seeing fun illustrations, and just watching you have fun puzzling!! the “easier” puzzle vids are more likely to make me puzzle too!! like someone else said it also gives me an idea of puzzles i might want for my birthday. don’t feel like you have to do harder puzzles just for us, we’re here for you karen 💕💫🥰

Giving yourself an oasis to pause and refresh while still carrying on is an excellent strategy -- period. I have been working (avoiding, actually) a shaped puzzle of a typewriter (Galison) and I am finding it sooooo hard. Usually, I am up to the challenge and this one? Heart and soul are begging for a beautiful eeBoo puzzle, colour, birds, animal, flora. I hate not completing a puzzle but I think today I will give it one last bash and see how it goes. Love your videos.

Thank you for showing the other puzzles by this company! As I was watching I recalled doing a similar cork puzzle with funny shapes and art style. I was around 7-9 years old though. Sure enough, I saw the center yellow puzzle and all the memories of putting that one together and taking it apart, just to redo it again popped up in my head. These were super fun puzzles and now that I know what I am looking for, I will definitely try to get these again! 🎉

Sure, longer videos with frustrating puzzle are sometimes way to go, but not every video ever

I love seeing these easier, novelty, puzzles, & finding out about the history of them & the artists. I think there are lots of interesting details you can add to fill out a video, without it just being about the difficulty. The artists of the Eeboo puzzles come to mind. I would also be interested in the different ways people tackle puzzles, a bit like at the competitions; where do you prefer to start, etc! Anyway, I'm happy to watch whatever you show, but am not desperate to see bigger, harder jigsaws all the time! And I'm an animal lover, so in the birthday puzzle, I'm the girl wanting to pat the monkey! 🧩🐒

Honestly I have to be real that I was having such a tough time keeping up with your channel when every other sentence on most videos was, "Why do I do this to myself?". It doesn't make me feel good. It doesn't make me want to continue the video, because I start to feel what you feel, and that's despair and frustration. I love the videos where you get super excited over a puzzle, when you keep saying how fun it is, etc. Because then I feel your excitement, your fun, and it makes me want to do puzzles, too. I hope you can do more videos where you simply enjoy puzzles and the fun that comes with this hobby.
