I agree with everything homie said . One thing in the Cole passive aggressive fake nobility timeline that he missed was when in the height of the social justice moment of 2020 , Cole unprompted went at NoName for a whole song criticizing her activist tone on Twitter . When NoName responded back in song, he tried to act like he meant no disrespect and apologized .

Cole is a coward. He noticed that Drake & his media glazers (Mal, Ak, Adam22) were laying the ground for Drake to attack Cole and hope a comeback recovery after the beat down he took from Kendrick. Also Drake for a while has been poking Cole on social media. Cole saw the play and got afraid since he doesn’t wanna battle Drake coz he knows he owes too much to Drake and Drake could exploit that to son him. Cole is a hypocrite and a grandstander. That whole song was a pledge of allegiance and love letter to calm Drake down and bribe him in not attacking him since Cole left him to dry in the dot beef, then collabed with Metro, Daylyt, Asap, Future. And to secure that Drake doesn’t aim him he made sure to put some sneak disses at Kendrick so Drake glazers and Drake can latch on to. Cole is the ultimate poser, hypocrite and coward. He has no hip hop backbone. He first dissed Kendrick with that trash 7 minutes drill. Then the track was badly received by the culture. He then quickly apologized and pulled the song to duck the incoming Dot smoke. So yeah all in all Cole is a coward who now is trying to rewrite history and gaslight us.

Cole is such an interesting study in shooting yourself int he foot. First, he jumps out the window first (this is what people forget: in music form, J.Cole fired the first shot. He dissed Kendrick first with 7MD), regretted it because it was so lame, and backed out before Kendrick can even swing back at him. Totally erased his years of features where he kept claiming no other rapper can step to him rarara. Shot his credibility and removed himself from serious consideration for top rapper. After the smoldering carcass that was Drake when Kendrick was done with him, the tide turned on J.Cole. suddenly the internet apparently owed him an apology, he was a genius, he made the best business decision. People were back on J.Cole, with the people who remain reminding everyone of his J.Fold moment being dubbed haters. And now, after he drops Port Antonio, where he sneakily takes shots at Kendrick and sends a love letter to Drake in public probably because Drake is no longer answering the phone, he tries to take the moral high ground and act as if he didn't take part in the battle because he was too good for beef and that was all just for clout, money and "blood" as if he didn't want that too. Now people are realizing he's contradicting himself, he's fence sitting again, he's moralizing when competition is foundational to hip hop. Now F*CK J.Cole! Is back and louder than ever before Lol he coulda just left well enough alone and been better off. He got away with it. He did the stupidest thing a rapper could do and got away with it, but he couldn't just shut up

Yeah, no matter how many times I watch dissections and dissertations of this whole beef and threeway dynamic in retrospect, I come up with the same answer every time. Cole f****d himself when he released 7-minute drill, and he knew he messed up, which is why he quickly tried to do the closest thing to reversing or taking/walking back the record as possible. I love Cole still as an artist, too, always have. And he cant change that, I will always love his talent and music. But it disappointed me that he made such a rash decision to jump in and release a track like that, as intelligent and accomplished as he is

27:37 I don’t respect it, as a Drake fan who knew this day could come and he needed to be prepared, he really wasn’t. He put his reputation on the line to enter a battle that he had no chance of winning on lyricism alone, with a weak strategy for victory against a formidable opponent (not to mention he had a decade to prepare). That’s not bold, brave or respectable, it was foolishly reckless, and he paid the price. Drake was outmanoeuvred on very metric, it was a very one-sided battle. Nobody thinks it was close apart from Drake’s most loyal fans.
