Great interview. Old head (age redacted) and huge Kessler fan here so may be biased, but he's such an open book and the meticulousness of his preparation shows in his responses to your questions. Thanks for the thoughtful interview questions, absolute top job done here.

Hobbs, incorporate visualization into your training. See yourself winning and KNOW that it will happen. The more you practice this and the more you believe in yourself, the more it will become true.

He should work with Alex Honnold for this. Learn how to be a stone cold machine under pressure.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he already does.

Wasn't there a video of Hocker recently, doing 165lbs/75kg in the bench?

@@jaredbowen3527I'd say over. Just over. With his climbing strength. Huge upside from there if he chooses to concentrate on lifting post career.

"I think everyone but Jakob has a really good kick" is such an ignorant statement
@TheRunningEffectPod13 күн бұрын
I'm the biggest Jakob fan there is, but there's probably some truth there at least in championship races.
@CarlFredrik-uo1cu13 күн бұрын
@@TheRunningEffectPod I mean, Jakob is more of a "fast pace all the way guy"- but many people underestimates his kick. He did 3:27.14 with a final 100m of 13.3 in Silesia 2023 He did a 3:30.37 with a final 100m of 12.9 in Brussels 2024 In the semi-finals in Budapest 2023 he did a final 100m of 12.47 (finishing time 3:34.98) And an exmample with both Kessler and Hocker that came down to a sprint finish: Lausanne 2024 Kessler and Hocker were both really close to Jakob with 150m remaining, Jakob ended up beating Hocker with 2.02s and Kessler with 2.64s. More detailed 1. 3:27.83 (55.5, 13.8-13.9-13.5-13.3) 2. 3:29.85 (55.4, 13.9-13.9-13.8-14.5) 3. 3:30.47 (55.4, 13.9-13,9-14.3-14.9) (Penultimate lap, and the 4 final 100m splits for all runners listed)

Jakob might've slowed down in the Paris final (Pretty understandable when you front run from the gun, and lead the race for 1400+ meters.) But he still closed faster than Kessler Finishing time as well as Final 800m, final 400m, final 300m, final 200m and final 100m 4th Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:28.24 (1:50.9, 54.7, 40.9, 27.3, 13.8) 5th Hobbs Kessler 3:29.45 (1:51.6, 54.9, 41.2, 27.5, 14.0) Yes, Kessler and many of the other guys would beat Jakob in an 800m. But Jakob has a fast finish, fast pace or not.
