This run is amazing. Really creative strategy to break this run over your knee.

Super great run. In my experience (just under 2k hrs in MT) Volatile Gauge is very anti synergistic with Hold over cards and also anytime you can expect curses. It isn’t the equivalent to sneko eye in StS. I’ll add I’m sure Baalor knows this, but folks with experience in StS and not MT may think them similar but with the way curse style card are generated in MT it make Guage much worse IMHO.

Can someone explain why Adaptive mutation gives so much this run?
@BaalorlordPlays8 ай бұрын
Imagine you have a Unit with 10 attack and 20 health. If you swap those to 20 attack and 10 health, the total amount of stats stays the same: 30. But if the unit has 10 rage (so +20 attack), then after swapping it has 40 attack (20 base, 20 from rage) and 30 health, so the total amount of stats went up. Basically, due to the rage, adaptive mutation gains you health without losing you attack, and then playing it again turns that gained health into more gain on attack. -Tomagathericon, Baalorlord Community Manager

He explained at one point. But basically, it swaps your current health and attack eith your base attack and health. Rage is OP with it since rage boosts current attack. So a unit with Attk: 10base + 50rage = 60 Hp : 20 Will adapt to Attk: 10base + 50 rage = 60 Hp : 60 Adapting again without applying any more rage will result in no change. The first use of adaptive mutation is very defensive in such a situation. Further uses do nothing without increasing a units rage. It only boosts attack if health is greater than current total attack, then it boosts base attack so that base attack plus rage equals current hp. What made adaptive mutation so bonkers powerful here was really the last stand repeatedly doubling (exponential growth) his rage, then adaptive mutation converting attack into health on odd uses of the card then back into damage on even uses without losses during conversion.

Both the replies give detailed and technically correct explanations with examples, but didn't mention the primary reason in a direct and simple way. Rage is re-added to attack every time the stats are flipped while also being converted into health. This is a bug and means the rage bonus effectively is counted twice as it applies to both health and attack. Your new health becomes your old attack and your new attack becomes your attack from rage plus your old health. Last stand increases the damage even more, but just one cast of adaptive mutation makes any thoroughly enraged minion almost unkillable without lowering damage.

anyone know baalors highest shard count and which video it is?
@osmium68327 ай бұрын
In case KZbin won't allow comments with links, the highest I saw was 230 shards in a video called "I went infinite (monster train)" from a year ago. It's the one that's 1 hour 33 minutes long and has dantes candle in the thumbnail.
