The worst thing about an ultrasound is you feel like you have to go to the bathroom for a while. But it doesn't hurt at all! you will do great!!

I had a open MRI and I even had a muscle relaxer and it still freaked me out. Even had music playing in the MRI machine and STILL freaked me out. The minute it was done I told them to get me out of there! But I hope it turns out better for you Shelly. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

With mine I had two valium, head phones with music and the button to stop the mri. It was awful! I could not walk into the center, was terrified, made it through the mri, tears streaming down my face. When it was over, I walked out of the mri room and passed out. Slept 48 hours! Never again!

I have had a few MRI and I found just closing my eyes before I go in and while in there until I felt comfortable, you haven't got to open your eyes. Jared is such a great support. Your anxious and that's totally normally. If your anxious about meds I wouldn't read up on the medication as they have to put worst case scenario on them and may make you more nervous. I have had that medication and it just made me chilled out X

OMG Shelly, I know how you feel! I've had 5 MRI's in the past 2 years. My first one, I felt the same as you, I cried so much! When they told me I had to go for my second one I panicked. My doctor prescribed me some ativan to calm me down, and it made a huge difference. I took half of one to start because I was worried about the side effect, but then I took a full one 15 minutes before going in, it helped me a lot. For the next 3 MRI's I took the ativan. It sounds as if we all have experienced diagnoses that have landed us in “the tube” and we have all survived it. YOU GOT THIS. Jared being the voice of reason in the beginning is definitely what Shelley (and anyone) in that position needs. Such a calming and understanding but forward facing approach to the situation. I’ve had a few MRIs/CT scans and they’re not enjoyable at all so I feel for you there Shelley! But they’re such important in-depth scans you should be proud of overcoming your anxiety and accepting help from medication definitely isn’t easy to do :)!

I am also very sensitive to medications. I am on several for anxiety, depression etc, I am so scared to take new ones as I have really weird reactions. One thing that helps is to not read the warning or articles online, I know it’s tempting but I find getting someone else to read the side affect warning helps. I try to take the side affects one at at a time if the happen! I hope your ok!

I also have severe anxiety and panic attacks, PTSD, current and recurring depression and I'm bipolar.I'm on Valium 4 times a day, zoloft and busbar.I have Graves Disease so I'm also taking medicine for that.Adult failure to thrive so I'm drinking 3 boost and 3 ensures a day.My doctor just gave me some kind of medication to increase my appetite.So I'm right there with you 💜💛💚🧡💙❤️Send positive energy your way 💜💛💚🧡💙❤️

Shelly, yes pills can be scary, but you can always take half. And side affects are just a few things that people felt out of the millions of people who take it every day. My family has a history of prescription drug abuse so taking pills is really hard for me to. But sometimes it's necessary. Be strong!

I understand how you feel, I have had endless MRI's the best way I got through them was to close my eyes. But during my cancer treatment a few yrs back I had pet scans, nuclear scans and MRI's. Just keep in your kind how important they are to find out what is going on.. Get well soon Shelley ❤️

Hi guys! New subscriber here! I felt SO BAD for Shelly, not only because she was nervous about the MRI, but because of her claustrophobia. I not only have had my fair share of MRI's, but in 1990, I actually had to go in for surgery to have my bladder reconstructed, because it wasn't growing with the rest of my body, I was in the operating room for almost 14 hours! But I'm glad I had the surgery, because it saved my life, I was very sick up until the operation.

Shelly, i am claustrophobic i have to have MRI’s constantly. They now have open MRI’s that are open on the sides. It’s better, not an amusement ride , but better. I take Xanax and it is the only reason I can do the MRI’s. I promise you, they will help. It’s notable freaky feeling just a relaxed feeling. Also, DON’T put it off it will only cause more anxiety. Try to distract yourself as much as possible?

My mom was a prescription drug addict and that’s why I was put in foster care. Thankfully I’m not claustrophobic because I get MRI’s on a pretty regular basis having been born with 2 neurological conditions. But I do know people that get very claustrophobic in them. My issue is that I get chronic migraines and the MRI’s almost always cause one. I actually have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, yep you read that right Sunday afternoon.

MRI can be scary. When I was in 10th grade (maybe 15 or 16 years old), I had an MRI that took 12 hours long. It took all day. They did my brain, head, ears and much more. I panicked inside the tube for so long. I did take a 30min break and then finished the MRI.

I understand being claustrophobic! When I have to have them done, listen to music and also when they are putting you in, focus your eyes above your head (look up) to see the open space behind the machine. Definitely take the meds! Just for perspective as I know when I am talking about, I have had many mri and 35 surgeries during my life. The pups are so cute! Jacob and Max already takes amazing photos, so I can imagine their improvement after the fun classes! Love that Kylie took the class too! Glad Kylie is going for support! Happy you were able to get through it!! Hope you get some answers! The meds likely affected you more because you hadn't eaten before taking them! That food looks AMAZING!! Hope the water leak at Eli and Lacey's is getting fixed and glad you can stay with your parents!

Aubrey, I have had several shih-tzu and shih-tzu mixes in my life plus all my various family members who also have had them so I can say from experience that my shih-tzu's have loved playing in the little baby swimming pools when they would get hot. Train the hair around the eyes and nose to lay away from their eyes and won't cause it to hurt or block their vision. Also, as soon as the hair on the top of their head is long enough start training it into a ponytail which also help to keep it out of the eyes. And NEVER allow anyone to cut or shave off any hair on their tail. Once it is cut it never grows back to what it was before. My original shih-tzu's tail was cut/shaved when she was 3 and when I lost her at 15 her hair length was 3" on one half and 6" on the other half. Comb them daily, work out any matts gently and immediately and be prepared for snorting due to the short, cute nose a shih-tzu has. O, and be aware shih-tzu's have a very strong stubborn streak and may be harder to train. Use small training treats if possible, mine loved it. My Yorkie/shih-tzu cross loves her bath and is very loving to me. A lot of what I said can also be applied to the Yorkie pup Addison has. Good luck girls and great job bathing your fur babies.

I know by the time we are watching this you will have had your MRI. The only advice I have , which my mum gave to me, is to close your eyes just before you go into the scanner and don’t open them until you get out. I’ve had numerous scans and this worked for me. I appreciate it doesn’t work for everyone but maybe it’s something to try in the future. I know I was surprised how low the roof was and for anyone like yourself Shelly it must feel a bit scary. You can ask for an open mri machine. I had them every 3 months for a year and a half as a preteen, then every 6 months for a year. And now I have them yearly. I have a rare tumor that will always be a part of my life. I’m also claustrophobic. My scans used to last 3 hours. They now only last 60-90 min. It was terrible. An open mri is still a compact tube, but it’s the only way I can get them done. You’ll get through this! Hoping for good results!

Idk what pain you’re feeling exactly. But I have the same issues where it feels like a UTI but the tests they do always come out negative. My pee burns and I’ve even had blood in my urine and it got worse and worse. I had MRI’s done too and they couldn’t find anything. I ended up doing a cystoscopy surgery to put a camera inside my bladder and they found that my bladder has no protective lining where certain foods/drinks create tiny little cysts that explode. That’s why I have so much burning, pain, and blood when I pee when it gets very bad. It’s called interstitial cystitis and there is no cure. Just diet change, lots of water intake, and checkups.

There are places that have open MRI machines. They make a big difference n anxiety levels lessen considerably. Ask your Dr or local imaging locations. I use to have full blown panic attacks but was able to use these. Good luck n God Bless

Reduce the amount of meds you take when you HAVE to take them…perfect…trying one….they tried to kill my mother with pain medication when she had her gallbladder removed AFTER I explained to them that she doesn’t have any tolerance and even antibiotics sometimes react oddly or have severe and unusual side effects. They gave here the IV medication that is 7x more powerful than morphine. I have seen this so many times as a Register Nurse…

I can’t take pain meds. I’ve had 12 surgeries, we found one I could take after surgery five and they have quit making it. It had been a while since the 10th one, when I went for eleven they told me. What they offered causes me to hallucinate. I declined but I was disappointed and scared. I had to take ibuprofen, naproxen and regular Tylenol. Alternating between them. Anxiety meds don’t bother me. My anxiety gets bad and I’ll take the pay off. Hope everything turns out fine.

Shelley I am like that on escalators. I rode on them my whole life then one day I freaked out I was shaking, scared and crying.I was always afraid of heights. But it just recently happened and I'm 50 years old .I take the elevator now. Weird I know. You will be ok.
