Praying for you! As important as fostering is I’ve always been scared to do it because I couldn’t handle letting go or not knowing if I get to keep them. You are doing amazing work! I will be praying for peace

Prayers for you in this hard time. We just adopted our foster daughter after 5 years of waiting, so I know how hard it is. Know that God sees you through all of this, no matter what happens.

I totally understand what you are going through. Both of my young siblings are foster-adopted. I was 19 when my little brother came into my life at 5 weeks old. I remember realizing after we adopted him 2 years into his life, that I had unintentionally put up a slight barrier because it would hurt too much to attach fully and then lose him. The same goes for my little sister, whom we got at 5 days old. Thank the Lord we got to keep them. But fostering is a great test of faith and patience.

I'm so sorry things are still uncertain for all of you. My husband and I also adopted internationally so I don't have any experience with foster care. But, I do believe that each day you have with these children you are pouring into them and planting seeds that will make a positive impact on them. You are very brave to step into their lives, knowing your time may be limited with them, and opening your heart anyway. I'll continue praying for you. And, no, you are certainly NOT being dramatic!

My heart goes out to you on this journey. You are all in our prayers. You worded it so well that it's a whole other level of instability and a complete surrendering of your life to God's will. Zero control over your family dynamic and the future of these precious kids. I felt so many of the struggles you described deeply as I watched the video. Our son was with us 3 1/2 years in a roller coaster foster care journey before we were finally able to adopt him this past August. We have now started the journey all over with 2 year old twins. Praying for continued strength. You're doing amazing work.

It’s so sad that Canada sounds so similar to the U.S. when it comes to the foster care system. Unless you live it you don’t completely get it. It’s. So. Hard. Completely understand where your are coming from. Continuing to pray for your family, the kids, their family. Those kids deserve permanency. They feel these things too and if it’s so hard for us as adults, imagine what it does to them. 😢

Still praying, but want to reassure you... this doesn't feel excessively dramatic to me on this side. I think it is for you because you know the details that we don't. So for us, it's more matter-of-fact (by comparison). Sigh... Just wish they'd consider the kids' need for stability, too.

Our friends were foster parents for 20 years. They ended up adopting 4 of them. Their own children suffered a lot having to share their parents love with foster children. They didn’t discover this until their children were adults and let them know. I think it’s something every foster parent needs to think about. May Our Lord doesn’t want you to move just now. It might be better to stay until you know for sure if your foster children will return back to their parents.

This has been my go-to verse this week while I go through my own “drama.” 🩵 “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10-11
