No one is gonna say they don't wanna ride GOOD flow trails but if you had to pick there's nothing better than finding flow in tech using your skills and the feeling that you get from your bike when you snipe flow in natural feeling trails is so much better than what you get from manicured berms. Bike park flow is fun but it just doesn't scratch my itch 90% of the time

It's crazy how much the right saddle can make such a big difference in the enjoyment of a ride. After trying a ton of different saddles way back when, I bought a used bike that came with a WTB Silverado, and now that's the only seat my tail is comfy on. Well that, and the Volt. WTB saddles for the win! 😉👍

Usually on rental bikes/demos they tend to turn the rebound knobs to as slow as possible so you have a lot more control in the air and with jumps. So much easier to push into the jump and not get bucked! So, it might be just that

The rest of the UK really needs to catch up with Scotland's progressive, modern attitude to access to the great outdoors! I live in the North of England, and we're fortunate to have some great riding locations < 2 hours drive away, but the restriction of access on natural routes by mode of transport is daft. There are lots of bridal ways (officially rideable in England as well as walkable) which are no safer to share with pedestrians and no more accessible to bikes than many footpaths. Give people the right of access, then teach them how to use that access responsibly and to take care of other trail users. The way it's done in England and Wales creates tension between walkers and riders. The way it's done in Scotland encourages us all to look after one another out there in the wilds. Sadly, given the attitude of big ramblers/walkers groups to bikes (often based on huge misconceptions and isolated anecdotal bad experiences with occasional assholes on bikes), and their ability to organise and lobby government, I just don't see it happening :/
