Kevin: The remark is drawing a parallel to the fact that there is a common understanding (joke), that busses don’t always come on time, (and occasionally two will come at the same time!) Hence the manufacturers brothers dying (coincidentally) “at roughly the same time”

There was a movie called "Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia". For years, Graham Garden has managed to shoehorn it into the various "titles" rounds. It just became a running joke between him and the audience as to how he would manage it, depending on the setup by the chairman. E.g. Titles that would appeal to hair salonists: "Bring me the Head And Shoulders of Alfredo Garcia". It's just one of several long-standing jokes that Graham invented.
