Jesus.... I only watched the entire box set about 12 months ago - and now I want to watch it all again - how can one show be this damn good!!!!?

❤ For what it is worth ..I am on my 3rd rewatch and I love it more each time I do. I am not a big rewatcher of shows either.

It's an addiction, but a good one. Such a well made show. Worth watching again and again and....

There was a two year period where I watched my West Wing DVDs and nothing else. No other show compares.

I binged to Season 6. Watching Santos vs Vinick has been a nice escape from the real presidential race. Santos' campaign announcement speech has the line "We live in cynical times." I'm sorry Congressman, but what? YOU live in cynical times?! If the West Wing universe is cynical, I don't want to know what we should call reality.

“Claudia Jean, let’s get drunk” - I love how real they wrote the character of Abby Bartlett.

I’m sorry, but Abby was being a jerk that didn’t want to take responsibility for her part and I’m glad Donna called her on it later on in the episode.

Sure, and you would tell the world that you were prescribing your Husband who is in federal politics, MS medication? I’m not saying it’s right, I’m not saying it’s wrong, but we don’t know what each of us would do in that situation. By accepting the Years( and voluntary suspension of her license for the Bartlett Presidential years) she acknowledged that what she did was Ethically mirky and subjectively wrong The writing of the West wing Characters showcases how grey Humanity really is. There is no black and white, no half measures. Abbey did what she did, as she was medically trained to do, for her husband and family’s sake.

Enjoyed this story line, it gave Stockard Channing some great moments to shine!

She is an incredibly talented actor, but she rarely got a chance to show it on West Wing. I I saw her in Lion in Winter as Eleanor against Laurence Fishburne's Henry II. I was skeptical of the casting, but they both were just fantastic.

When Donna totally killed the vibe later... that was a great scene. Much as Abby wanted to moan and groan and grouse about the way things turned out, she did indeed bring it on herself, and you saw the anger and then understanding right there on her face.

1:29 "Thank you" said with the clear undertone of "___k you" - I get why they're pressing her, and she did absolutely do something she shouldn't have done, but at that moment it's like, dude, how do you pull the lady over on her birthday and say, "here, let's talk about this depressing thing, oh, and go enjoy your birthday party."

I do believe everyone has that One Birthday that immediately comes to mind when we think about the Anniversary of our birth! I should think this particular Candle Day was Abby Bartlett's.

Actually she had zero business directing the deputy chief of staff to do anything. The soap opera stuff where Abby and Amy got things done only because of who they were in a relationship with, was always one of the weakest aspects.

Mr. Mcgarry only calls POTUS "Jed" when he's really worried. Very seldom since the campaign.
@notthatyouasked66562 сағат бұрын
They generally don't in private. One of my friends is a close personal (non-political) friend of a former POTUS. I was at that friend's house with said POTUS once. When I was not on the room, I could hear my friend call POTUS by his first name. When I was in the room, he would instead say, "Mr. President".
