Please update us when you get it. I would love to hear a consumers perspective about it. Is it really as piano like as Jp Cormier states it to be. And how will it compare to your other high end guitars. Can’t wait for you to get it mate and congratulations!

It sounds great! Jeremy, I have a question for you. When we sell something on Reverb, Ebay etc., and the item sells for more than $600, I understand that the seller will receive a 1099 form from them. My question is, do you declare what you actually made on the guitar, minus what you originally paid for it, or do you have to declare the total amount received for the sale? Thanks for any input you may have on this.
@SlimeyGuitarStrings
@SlimeyGuitarStrings 4 ай бұрын
If I am not mistaken, you don't have to actually file that as earnings unless you receive x number of dollars a year. I have heard the threshold where a 1099 needs to be issued to you is much lower than the threshold where you need to actually pay taxes on those sales as income. Also I have heard that if you have a receipt for the original sale, you can claim the difference. I am not an expert, trying to pass on what I have heard.

I've seen a few video's on this Torrified Maple series now and still have a couple of questions; 1. How will repairs be done the torrified maple? 2. Is the torrification done after , cutting, shaping and bending?
@SlimeyGuitarStrings
@SlimeyGuitarStrings 4 ай бұрын
The torrefaction happens before the wood is bent. They show it in the factory tour but they found a new mold they use for that. (Jeremy mentions this in the video.) There's a video on youtube somewhere where Robin Boucher explains torrefaction (Boucher was the first to do it) and I think the wood should generally be much more stable so it hopefully wont need repairs. If it does.... well that's a good question for Robin Boucher.
@tomehCanada
@tomehCanada 4 ай бұрын
Yes Jeremy mentions the "special molds" and bracing, however the picture/video doesn't give any detail. I've seen/heard Robin explain the process of torrifaction many times. Thanks for adding facts by letting me know that the maple is treated before bending. I find it amazing because I know wood workers who have tried working with torrified maple over the last couple of years and who uniformly said it is very hard, chips easily and breaks out easily. All characteristics that would appear to work against bending it?? Thus my earlier questions as it is very, very interesting and I tip my hat to Robin's shop for being able to do it. I would say it is wishful thinking to hope that a guitar will never need repairs and advise not to fly with a guitar or use it on stage. Ha, ha. @@SlimeyGuitarStrings

I wondered why no one was torrefying the back and sides as well as the top. Boucher must have wondered the same thing. That guitar doesn't sound like the typical maple guitar....lots of low and midrange, especially for a small body.

A beautiful guitar. I have no doubt the build, looks and sound are remarkable. Maybe it is a generational thing for me, but I could never see myself budgeting so much for guitar. Would I notice the sound difference from a $2500 or $3000 guitar? Maybe? But that’s just me. If I had unlimited funds I’d definitely want one. Thank you for sharing this guitar.

You’ll never be satisfied with the guitar you lust over if you buy the more affordable option before trying it out. This is why you always try in store and sit on it for a couple of days. Ask them to hold onto it for a week.

@@kamarienedwards1757 I agree with you. I’m 70, and owned over 150 guitars in my life. Most, I purchased used, or store demos but several new Martins, Gibsons and others. At times buying three different American brands at the same time, keeping and playing for 6 months and keeping a favorite. Sometimes an expensive and crazy way to do it. I’ve found the glitz isn’t always what I wanted. My favorite of all my guitars is a Martin OOO15sm. Understated but the sound and playability just works for me. But I would not buy any guitar without trying it. Thanks and take care

0:06 dude I’m going to stop you 6 seconds… we’re so proud to say a guitar is USA/American made or Japanese yet you choose to deliver your first spheal about this instrument being North American made… yes this is true but say it with your chest this instrument was Canadian made. You need to say it loud and proud and not hold back on the wording. It’s selfish and demoralizing.
