1000% agree with your thoughts on simultaneous releases. Every time I think “oh I could just stream this one” I remember my first watch of Raiders of the Lost Ark. It was on an imax screen, and I’m not sorry to say nothing will top that experience for me. Also got to see Jaws for the first time in theaters, which also was phenomenal.

I think there will always be a place for the Cinema because I’ve watched a ton of movies at home over quarantine, but I’m still chomping at the bit to go to the movie theater. It’s an entirely different experience to make an evening of going to see a movie with other people and strangers. I am very introverted but the movie theater is my favorite place to go when I’ve had a hard day at work, just grabbing a little treat at the drug store, smuggling it in, watching a movie with no distractions, listening to people buzz about the movie before, and listening to them talk about it as they walk out. It’s amazing.

Cinema experience vs a home experience? Gotta be the cinema every single time! Seeing a movie for the first time (in my opinion at least) should be in a cinema screening... there’s just no substitute for the atmosphere, the scale or even just the feeling of taking part in something like that. If the first time I’d seen The Last Jedi was at home on a tv or god forbid, a laptop screen, I probably wouldn’t love that movie anywhere near as much as I do!
